Quotesweetcharmedlife To be clear Thatcher is dead. Not Cher. As some people on Twiter thought when they saw the hashtag #thatcherisdead. And of course, Teri Hatcher is still alive and well too.

An approps suggestion from Director Ken Loach: "How should we honour her? Let's privatize her funeral. Put it out to competitive tender and accept the cheapest bid. It's what she would have wanted"

QuoteDandelionPowderman QuoteAngus MacBagpipe Chuck makes a great contribution to "Sympathy" live - Billy Preston or even Stu couldn't do that. Plus he always look you in the eye, smiles and waves when he goes past on his way to and from the b-stage. The guy is happy to be there, just like us! It was Nicky who played on the album version. Billy or Stu could have done just as c

I was at the front of the stage, in the pit, for Bruce's Vancouver show last November and I didn't have to pay anything extra to be there either. Seeing him again in Munich in May. Seriously, it was the BEST show I have ever attended (with the possible exception of a 1988 Bruce show). I love the Stones, but they could learn a lot from Bruce in terms of pricing, setlists, and connecti

Quoteslew R - Are you serious about that 2% tax on hos equestrian farm? If that is true he is a bigger hypocrite than I thought he was. I love his music and he is a great performer but I've always thought he was a hypocrite. A man of the people my ass!!! BTW I think most of these rockers including our Stones are hypocrites. Farms usually pay less tax (they do where I live anyway). Noth

I think the Stones did their best with Bill's songs, so they deserve credit for that. I always thought Ry Cooder was the slide player on "Memo from Turner". Not sure where I heard that...but it does sound like him and he did play on "Sister Morphine".

When we're talking about the money, it's not just the ticket price - don't forget about the merchandising. Some people spend as much on a bag full of $40 t-shirts (that cost $5 to make) with tongues on them as they do on their tickets.

I've seen Dwight in concert without Pete; he's got a pretty solid crew playing with him, so I didnt' miss Pete. On the subject of 3 Pears - for some reason I just can't get into it. I've tried, but there's nothing there to grab me. I love all Dwight's stuff from the 90's though.

I'd say the divide between Catholics and Protestants has had a HUGE impact on where people - particulary those of European descent - live today and our genetic makeup. It was a divide that was finally crossed by my English Anglican grandmother and Irish Catholic grandfather. Personally, I'm glad that religion is no longer the big tribal identity marker it once was - at least in the we

Quotestonehearted Quoteangee Karlos, it was an addition to the mix, anyway. What got me was when he implied Vancouver is in the US, at least according to my reading: "The Stones are also confirmed for 18 U.S. arenas. The tour is supposed to start on the West Coast, maybe in Vancouver." It is--at least there is one in the U.S. From Wikipedia: Vancouver is a city on the north b

Quotestonehearted QuoteCocaine Eyes And about Jagger continuing to leap about and run miles on stage at age 70 - I think we have to recall what Charlie said years ago: "I think we'll look silly doing this at 70". Now, Charlie (I doubt) meant looking silly playing drums or playing guitars or playing pianos. The "silliest" one could be Jagger. There's a hige ri

Hands-down, the best singer ever in Country Music. I finally got into George a few years back (don't ask what took so long). Anyone who doesn't know about him should do themselves a favour and pick up one of his greatest hits packages. What a voice, what a life! REAL Country Music - Accept No Substitutes!

I saw a film back in 2005 that included the Namelosers, called "Rolling like a Stone". It was mainly of interest to me because of it had some clips of the Stones in it from 1965; but it turned out to also be a poignant study on the passing of the "wilderness of youth".
