Thanks for posting JJackFL - Not a bad little 50th anniverary cash-in. The short album reviews follow the usual journalistic line of being mostly dismissive of their post Tattoo You outpout. Forum: Tell Me
Picked it up a couple of days ago - I think a little pricey in my local shop at £24.00. If I'd waited, travelled further afield or even bought on-line I could have got it a bit cheaper. But it was just too tempting sitting on the shelf.
Beautifully presented and with great photographs throughout. The band's comments are nice even if there are too few of them. Sort of similar idea to Forum: Tell Me
Thank you coowouters I downloaded and listened to the documentary earlier today. The archive interview segments are great and the program compiler has made some interesting choices of music from the Stones catalogue. The tracks are mostly left to play to their full completion which takes up a lot of the 2 hour running time. Very nice though.. Forum: Buy/Sell/Trade
Thanks very much Keesie it dowloaded just fine.
here's a - kind of lukewarm - review of the show by The Telegraph
followed by a few audience reviews. Forum: Buy/Sell/Trade
I think it was mentioned in Marianne Faithfull's autobiography that this was a term she used for her 'comfort zone' to use another euphenism Forum: Buy/Sell/Trade
Sounds like a good quality copy of 'Streets of Berlin'.
According to this the
The VOP Purple Dog Mix and EGH Solaris mixes were released on a UK promo
They must have missed one of the solaris mixes which would have completed the set. Forum: Buy/Sell/Trade
Thanks for posting Eddiebyword - A nice compilation.
Although I think it came up on this forum before that the title track 'Coming On Strong' sounds quite like jagger but is in fact by a group called ‘Broken English’ - who had a minor hit with it in the mid 80’s.
this is it i think Forum: Buy/Sell/Trade

This one is 330 Mb
Disc 1 + Artwork:
Wetransfer (New URL!!!!!!!!) (available until May 15th)
Thats it coowouters sounds great now thanks for the repost the wetransfer site realy is superb
and thanks teagueraw for all your work. Forum: Buy/Sell/Trade
Just downloaded CD1(80mb) and CD2 from coowouters wetransfer post.
CD2 sounds fine but CD1 sounds dreadful - just listen to 'Cops and Robbers' and compare it with the same track on 'More Stoned than You'll Ever Be' to name but one of many. I think there must have been a f... up during the conversion from aaif to FLAC. Forum: Buy/Sell/Trade
Thankyou teagueraw for the all of this and the work you must have put in.
And coowouters for re-posting. The Wetransfer site works a treat. Forum: Buy/Sell/Trade
Interesting that Jagger brushes off the notion that they pinched 'She's So Cold' from Willy Nile - well if Nile's version was recorded before 1978 surely they did! And... fair point, why didn't Nile sue... Was it another case of subliminal suggestion as with 'Constant Craving'? It doesn't reflect well on the Stones if they deliberately stole... bad do.

I've got a problem with extraction (7-zip & WinRAR):
I've got no track 9 - Love In Vain
and 2 track 11's - Honky Tonk Women.
Anybody else got same problem?
Yes it would seem 'love in vain' is missing and HTW is included twice. Forum: Buy/Sell/Trade

this link dont work,i waited the 300 seconds & still could NOT dl...a waste of time...
Sitting with the download open it took about 10 minutes before it registered 1 percent. It may be just a busy time or the bayfiles site is 'very' slow.
well done with the artwork teaguer - very impressive.
got it - took a while though - thanks teaguer Forum: Buy/Sell/Trade

Well what will it be? - not 25x5 but 50x5. With a 50 year lifespan there is obviously a 'lot' they can talk about. Hopefully not just the sixties but a grand sweep of their full career including solo projects and so-on. Perhaps in two or three episodes if necessary - I wait in anticipation. Forum: Tell Me
Thanks Deltics for posting.
Some interesting choices of cover versions. Presumably a way of showing the strengths of the songs themselves, other artists adapting them to their own style. Johnny Cash taking the Stones melancholic 'No Expectations' and accentuating the country element of the song. He's just one of many country singers who've covered 'No Expectations' Forum: Tell Me
Saw this film at the IMAX theatre in Bradford UK sometime in the early 90s(went a couple of times) I thought it was terrific - performance, picture quality and sound. Nice one to have on DVD. Forum: Tell Me

Interesting silhouette - could that be Bill missing once again.. nasty!
Actually I think the silhouette is Bill, Charlie, Ron and Keith.
Mick's a "bit" more prominent as you can see...
yes I think you're right.. considering its based on a poster from the tour so ..yes it must be Bill on the left. Forum: Buy/Sell/Trade
