QuoteMathijs QuoteS.T.P They really sounded great on the festivals in '69 -Both at Palm Beach and in Altamont Keith and MT used more effects on the guitars. Especially the vibrato pedals made the guitars sound even cooler than on MSG. They didn't use any effects on the guitars, they are just terribly out of tune and the film is wobbly. Mathijs Mathijs, first I have to say that I

Quoteautomaticchanger QuotePalace Revolution 2000 I think Australia '73 was even hotter than US 72 and Europe 73. If they ever got around to cleaning up another vintage Live show, Sydney or Perth have my vote. Overall I prefer 72, but I've never heard a 72 'Rocks Off' that comes anywhere close to the Australia shows. I'd say the same goes for Bitch, Gimme Shelter, and

Quotelenchik I contacted the folks from the LOC and they told there were no “digital edits”. So, it seems there were several reels that weren’t numbered. S.T.P, Eleanor Rigby - you were right, it’s indeed “Stray cat blues”, so we get this performance from two camera angles! Nice. Good work!!

Quotejohn lomax On my Facebook feed yesterday there was a post from Associated Press with over an hour of footage from the 1969 West Palm Beach festival, with about10 minutes of Stones content at the end (it is the footage used in the Days of Rage documentary). It includes audio as well. Songs shown were JJF, Strat Cat, Midnight Rambler, Live With Me and a bit of Little Queenie. Did anyone else s

Quotelenchik QuoteEleanor Rigby "Love in Vain' is possible as it is around the right period of the show. THat's "love in Vain" for sure. I've already tried audio and it matched pefectly. Now if anyone could identify the song that starts at 15:04 mark... If I were to guess I'd say Stray Cat Blues.

QuoteEleanor Rigby Anyone have an idea what songs are being played for the Stones section? I'm thinking the film starts around the end of Sympathy. We "seem" to get The Sun Is Shining and Stray Cat Blues. But the footage chops and changes a bit which is weird. Feels like Under My Thumb is in there also. UMT is in there. The fottage contains the guy on acid (on stage) that t

QuoteFather Ted Quotekevinkamphuis Honestly only interested in live material from Mick Taylor era. Let’s pray we finally get a proper 1972 live album release. At least some concerts were recorded on 16-track multitrack Same mate. A box set of the Philadelphia concerts including the Stevie Wonder performances would be a dream come true!

Quotekevinkamphuis This version is holy grail material for me. Still waiting for a clean transfer from the master tapes. Every version I heard of is many versions away from the master tape It would be great to have a decent sounding show from '72

QuoteCaptainCorella QuoteEleanor Rigby I wonder if the cameraman was this guy: Good call. Well spotted. There is a guy on the left close to the speeker next to the organ. Some of the shots are from Jaggers left side. I don't know, but at least it seems he also got a film camera.

Love the fottage! Have been watchig it several times and it sertainly gives a feeling to how it must have been to be there. Altamont might be one of the most important concert they've ever done.

QuoteTheGreek QuoteDandelionPowderman Of course it's great, but we get a bit fooled by the excellent sound. Regarding energy and performance I prefer some of the 1972 shows. You sir are a very wise man as the excellent sound most certainly is a huge factor ! Yeah, the show lack the energy from '72. Also there are performances from the winter tour that really compliments the vers

Quoteryanpow QuoteS.T.P I don't get the fascination about shows being filmed. Isn't it the music that it's all about? How often do we atctually watch concert films? The audio of a performance should stand on its own. The playing should be good enough to just listen to if you want. That being said, The Stones are, I would argue, the most entertaining band of all time. They a
