QuoteHankM Quotestone4ever What it looks like to me is that the Stones ticket prices have risen far above inflation. They certainly have risen far above inflation. 1978 10 bucks, 1981 17 bucks, 1989 45 bucks... and up up and away from there. I'm trying not to whine Hank , but consider this more of a rant. The prices for Stones tickets at the last Vegas shows were seriously outrag

Quotegeorgelicks I can tell from my source that both songs were from the Stones' sessions for the new album, both Ronnie and Charlie are on it but Keith refused to play, just like he did not play on Saint Of Me. Both songs were re-worked as Mick Jagger solo songs, Universal wanted something out to test the market and keep the hype about the new album and Mick was happy to put something ou

QuoteRocky Dijon QuoteHairball Other than this quobuz link, has there been any other confirmation regarding these credits? Still can't hear anything in the drumming that screams "Charlie", just as the guitar playing sounds like it could be anybody. Before these credits were posted, not one person would have guessed Charlie and Ronnie were playing, but now it seems to be a given.

Quotestone4ever Damn it keith can read a bloody story book to me and ill be happy lol ( we got that with his bio Life, albeit Johnny Depp I recall hearing about that and someone might have even posted a snippet of it here? If memory serves, and correct me if I'm wrong, but Depp used a fake English accent attempting to sound like Keith. Rather than coming across as sincere, it sounded l

I wonder if Mick will go on the Jimmy Fallon show to perform Getta Grip and sit for an interview. Would be interesting to hear from the horses mouth the reasoning for going solo. Not just the promo stuff he's already talked about, but some more in depth details of who, how, what, where, and most importantly why. But probably not much substance would happen with a gushing Fallon type inter

Wondering if any progress is being made with supposed new album...new tour starts in a little over a month. Is it possible the Stones will have a new single to unleash before then? Mick was able to surprise attack us all with Getta Grip/England Lost, so maybe something's already in the can? Hearing Micks new solo tunes - while not bad - really only served to make me more anxious about a n

Some songwriters need a co-writer to have their ideas fully realized to the highest quality. Not always the case, and not with every individual member of a songwriting team, but some of the greatest tunes that have been co-written wouldn't be the same without one or the other writers. A prime example would be Lennon/McCartney - yes they can write on their own as proven with their solo care

QuoteNate I was planning to fly back to London the day after the Stockholm show but now I am thinking about maybe taking a train ride from Stockholm to somewhere else in Scandinavia and staying a day or two before flying back to London. Does anyone have any experience or suggestions for great train rides from Stockholm? Thanks Nate During the Licks tour '03, I stayed in Stockholm

Gotta Getta Grip and England Lost might have been better served if they were combined into one song with the England Lost part used a bridge or a coda (or vice versa with elements of Getta Grip being inserted somewhere into England Lost). Would have added some variety while breaking up the monotony of both at the same time. Also, as with a lengthy article that is too wordy, some of the lyri

Quotehopkins I read the lyrics once. I don't want to be unkind to a guys who has such a legacy of really brilliant tracks and performances that mean so much to me; I don't do it lightly, or cavierlierly; and I'm just one old fan anyway....but the lyrics seemed sort of rhyming dictionary puerile...I mean lazy and a big step backwards. If they are typically loose as may be his style

QuoteRocky Dijon Nice photo of Mick "hey, shove that umbrella up your ass" Jagger with Ronnie Wood "standing in the rain." Lol I thought it was Keith on the right looking down at Mick with disappointment for abandoning ship (ie the supposed new Stones album) and recording behind his back. I still have the 7" vinyl of the Jackson/Jagger single which I actually kind of liked at the time of release, but now it's become more of an oddball curio time capsule than anything else. The only duet that truly matters and has stood the test of time imo is the Peter Tosh Don't Look Back cover. Hard to call You're So Vain a duet as Mick's basically singing backgro

Quotestone4ever QuoteHairball QuoteRocky Dijon So the tracks are copyrighted by Promotone rather than Jagged Recordings and feature Mick with Ronnie and Charlie. I guess these are Stones songs that Keith refused to be part of and so they aren't Jagger/Richards or released as The Rolling Stones. In this sense, it is a debut solo single. Three quarters of the band working under the name "
