QuoteSomeTorontoGirl Blue and Lonesome is a hard act to follow. But glad Mick is keeping busy. Almost makes me yearn for the days of hearing average blues covers, but instead I'll stay hopeful for a new album of Stones originals.

QuoteDoxa QuoteHairball As for old Stones fans liking them ...evidently the new tunes speak to a certain element, but that particular group seemingly finds joy and something positive in anything Stones related. A bit arrogant comment... Since I like the two new Jagger tunes I seemingly belong to that group of people who "seemingly finds joy and something positive in anything Stones re

QuotePalace Revolution 2000 Can't really see a difference between the two cuts. I;m glad Mick put out couple of new tracks, but they are pretty lame. I wonder - who really does he see them appealing to? Young people? Old Stones fans? Based on what my 22 year old niece just said, can't see young people getting into these - not sure they want to hear an old man preaching and shouting po

QuoteRocky Dijon Not crazy about either of them. Dislike production that sounds like a transistor radio was played full blast through a PA system. Still, it could be worse...it could be "Charmed Life" or "One Day, One Night" or "I Can't Take It No More." I'm not so certain these were rejects of the Stones sessions so much as testing the water for the we

Quotestone4ever Mick saying here that he has only had a few sessions in the studio with just Keith so far. This new Stones album really is far from finished. At least Mick sounded upbeat about working with Keith, don't write these guys off yet, it can still happen, they can still be great again together. Can you give a quote as I don't have time or patience to listen to entire inter

The way he repeatedly sings Gotta Getta Grip and the particular melody of those words is slightly annoying after a few listens.

QuoteWild Slivovitz I'm glad that so many people seem to like these songs. As much as I love Mick, I'm sorry to say that I can't share this feeling. Anything on Crosseyed Heart sounds to me 1000 times better than either song. Hopefully I might change my mind with additional listenings, but that's my very humble opinion so far. I was trying to be positive earlier with first

Listening to England Lost Skepta version now...if you like rap this might do it for you. One things certain, there's quite a lot of remixes and versions of Getta Grip and England Lost to digest which is probably a good thing. Listening to Getta Grip Kevin Parker remix now...hmmm...doesn't much improve anything like I thought it might. Will listen to more later, can only take so m

QuoteMelBelli "England Lost" feels like an update of "Rain Fall Down," sonically speaking. I like the idea of cultural commentary smuggled into a soccer metaphor. Mick has something to say, but, as is his wont, chooses to wear it lightly. My thoughts as well, and upon first listen I like it better than Getta Grip...there's a nice funkiness to it. Like Rain Fall Down t

Thanks KRiffhard. Didn't watch Getta Grip video, just listened (twice), and upon first listen I'm pleasantly pleased. First impressions: Mick's vocals are good, lyrics aren't that great, a bit repetitive, and overall a bit derivative. Nice groove and atmosphere though. Not sure how many times I'll be able to listen to it as it's a bit monotonous...the upco

As for the Rarities debacle of deleting Bill, they could have taken it a step further and rerecorded all of Bills bass parts with Darryl taking his place. Sounds crazy, but for some odd reason that happened with Ozzy Osbourne and his first two solo albums.

QuoteRocky Dijon In all likelihood, since Bill never signed the Virgin contract, you can't include him on an album cover without coming to an agreement. Why bother when he can be photo-shopped out? What's the worst that will happen - a bunch of obsessive compulsive fans will discuss it on a message board? It's a cheap shot, and an attempt at rewriting history. But you're p

QuoteOlly QuoteHairball Has to be one of the lamest, cheapest, unforgivable things the Stones have ever done. Wonder whose idea it was? I'll give you one guess... It was a rhetorical question and think I know, but didn't want to be labeled a "hater" from various cheerleaders.

Nice looking book. QuotePalace Revolution 2000 I have to say he has gotten a lot better. The ballet works are not bad. They're not bad, but they're basically crappy copies of Edgar Degas (1834-1917). Degas Generally speaking, I'm not a big fan of Ronnie's paintings. The colors he uses are either too loud or too dull, the derivativeness of various styles, the lack of
