When I saw them Fall 1973, Ooh-La-La tour, Stay With Me was the only song I knew Faces for, and I was going mostly to see Rod. Too young dumb and uninformed to know going into it what an incredible band I was about to see.

I was a big fan of Linda Ronstadt throughout the 1970s and into the early 1980s when she still sang rock music. Before she went Gilbert & Sullivan and Nelson Riddle. I can't remember why I never made the effort to see her live back then. Most likely because I like my rock n roll dynamic and she was a stand-at-the-mic-&-sing performer, I guess. Whatever the reason, I regret now having

Quotecrholmstrom Afghan Whigs early next month. Sadly it's the same night as Amyl & the Sniffers. I would've went to that but already had tickets for the Whigs. I saw Amyl in May so don't feel too horrible about it. I'd skip the Whigs and see Amy again. Just got home 4AM from seeing Amyl & the Sniffers in DC tonight... their set started at 12:30 AM. And while I knew

Always loved the original Layla album. Tedeschi Trucks Band, first time seeing them was my last concert before covid struck... saw em Feb or March 2020. I was and am a Susan Tedeschi fan primarily, and honestly, thought TTB was good but they didn't blow me away live. It's a big band, they share the spotlight during the show. But I'm certain that with the right song choices t

Quotea bigger nut Now they are selling collect order and date customizable shirt. I really like the six tongues logo art on this shirt. Hope at some point they decide to make them without the lettering on the back, in that I'm not one to wear teeshirts naming tours or shows I didn't attend.

Quotecrholmstrom QuoteChitown23 I saw Amyl & the Sniffers in May at Logan Auditorium in Chicago. They're returning to play the Vic in Sept, about 3 times bigger venue. She crushes! Comfort to Me is a great album! They are playing a bigger venue in Seattle in early October. Sadly I had already purchased tickets for Afghan Whigs on the same night. I've mentioned this on the foru

Brandi Carlile - Sep 21 This is one of only 5 solo shows she's doing. I saw her in June 2010 but that was full band, so I'm not sure what to expect, other than it's Brandi so it will be good. She's continuing to do full band concerts while these 5 scattered out solo shows happen too. Guessing I might've paid $40-something in 2010. She's also gotten quite a bit

Quotebye bye johnny From None But The Brave Podcast ...we expect Bruce to release a soul covers record this fall. A small number of shows to promote it are also expected. From Broadway Bruce to Soul Man Bruce? Okay. To blow off steam over his ticket price increases, over on BTX I've enjoyed using the "Tour Name?" thread, which quickly turned into parodies, with my own

QuoteJavadave Keith has had a strong tour and looks ready to keep rolling, but Mick has started to show a few chinks in the armor this tour. Perhaps it’s just the wear of fighting COVID while in your late 70’s, but he has looked noticeably older and more frail this tour. I’d be surprised to see another 2-3 month tour. It's been Ronnie who's looked the frailest over the course of SIX

Quoteschillid I live in New Jersey but I don't care for Bruce Springsteen's music. Is that wrong? No. And -- as yet --still not encoded in NJ state law that you must be a Bruce fan to remain a resident there. I get that he doesn't fit every rock fan's tastes. Too much the over-earnest romantic, he strikes many as self-important as an artist, and cheesy. If any of us

Quotemajomuc I like the Schiele reference. It's certainly not everyone's taste, but special anyway. The Schiele looks not unlike a 1930s comic book panel by an artist named HGPeter, who later drew Wonder Woman in Sensation and Wonder Woman comics in the 1940s.

I have a hard time convincing myself that he's going to top that show.... By the time I saw "The River Tour" in Sep 2016 they'd burned out on playing The River and morphed it into The Pre-Rive

QuoteIrix QuoteTheBluesHadaBaby These all have some point or element of reference to the city. What's this one's? 1915 - "Kollektiv-Ausstellung: Egon Schiele, Wien" (Vienna) Galerie Arnot: Austrian expressionist painter Egon Schiele (1890–1918) - . Aha. So at least the concert poster isn't a bad take on good art. The original source material sucked, too.

QuoteNashvilleBlues No Nashville? Don’t they know how cool we are now? Haha! Kidding. Looking at Atlanta. Maybe he's got Nashville pencilled in as 1st stop when he does his Tom Joad/Devils&Dust-style lonesome soloist tour for Western Stars. I put down Greensboro, DC, and Baltimore and expect I'll be going to one of those. Two at most.

The choices they offer, as time goes on, become ever more limited to mid-tempo or even ballads. Real rockers being more physically taxing, which they feel less able to add any more of in a show now. I feel like we were lucky to still get the option of Rocks Off in 2019 in DC. And, thankfully, we took it
