QuoteRobertJohnson Actually there is only one really bad and horrible album in Stones history: Their Satanic Majesties Request And if I have to mention a second one, I would vote for Between the Buttons The Stones as Psychedelic- or Pop-Band didn't work ever. Those and "Dirty Work" are the 3 worst, I agree. Actually, if you count the amount of still listenable songs

Quotecc but none of that explains "cvnt" over "cut." What's there to explain? Who's gonna kiss a film-cut? Now, for the other option, especially when you are Mick Jagger and you hardly think of anything else...

I like the song, but I have to admit it sort of grew on me. Didn't use to like it so much. But saying it's their worst ever, seems impossible. Although I can see the reasons why people don't like it (e.g. schmaltzy or fake-latin or "political" ), they have done much worse in all these senses (schmaltzy: Blinded By Love or Streets of Love, fake-latin: Sweethearts Togethe

If the Stones want to make a truelly great album again (and if not, what's the point of making one?), and with truelly great I mean on the level of least Beggar's Banquet, Let It Bleed, Sticky Fingers, Exile, Some Girls or Tattoo You, they need the following: - Really figure out what music does make them tick, which - by the way - might mean different things for different members - R

In the (fortunately not too large) list of really embarrassing stuff that they have done, this song ranks very high. In general, Between the Button, Her Satanic Majesties and Dirty Works are the albums that produced most of the candidates for that list. I would say this particular song is among the top three (the others being Back To Zero and On With The Show).

QuoteDoxa ... It would be interesting if they would do something different - why not to start with, say, "Sympathy For The Devil" or "Gimme Shelter", if they need to be 'war horses'. Those would be dramatic ways to start a concert, and I can imagine them working well in creating the needed euphoria. Besides, they are already using the rhythm track of "Sympath

I think there are two versions. I like the slow one with the simple chord picking. Mick sings great on it, the guitar sounds nicely smooth, it's a blues without being too obvious, with a real melody and structure. They should play it live.

EVery time he does it, I try to pretend it's part of the lyrics of the next song.

Quote24FPS ...I just saw the Berlin clip of You Got The Silver and Keith had the balls to say, "It's good to be here," pause, wait a beat, "It's good to be anywhere," and then give a cigarette weezy laugh. And he delivers the line like he's never done it before. +1 I hate that stupid "it's good to be anywhere" line and it never fails to mak

Great stuff! I didn't dare look/listen to "Can't Be Seen", but I loved "Rocks Off", "Gimme Shelter" and "You got The Silver". Did someone record "Midnight Rambler" as well?

Fantastic song on a fantastic b-side of a fantastic album. It brilliantly blends their talents for melodies, harmonies, rhythm and groove.

His singing has improved a lot, I agree. And he still plays well the basic chords. And if he wouldn't be able to play Satisfaction, well, that really would be the end, wouldn't it? (I'd prefer them not to play that song at all, but okay). It's just that it's clear that he doesn't have that presence on stage that he used to have. It's Ron Wood or Mick Taylor wh

Of course it will never happen, if only for reasons of image. But musically speaking, the idea does make sense. Keith is not really playing any important role on stage anymore (neither musically, nor "visually" i.e., directing the band). Stupid recent mistakes as "Can't be Seen", the opening wrong bars of "Brown Sugar", the ridiculous mistakes in Start Me Up i

In Stray Cat Blues, instead of "It's no hanging matter", an expression I wasn't familiar with at that time, I used to hear: "It's no hanging at my door" which didn't make much sense to me either.

Great example of how they managed for decades to always sound like the stones and sound new and fresh at the same time. Great song, especially the studio version. Although I also love the live version where they f*** it up (Wembley 1982 I think).

QuoteTonyMo Mediocre?? What are you smoking? This solo is genius exemplified. After stating the opening theme from the Sticky Fingers version with a subtle and clever variation, Mick Taylor invents a stunningly unexpected and mind blowing minor third trill at :49 that is off the graph................... [....] No offense, but to me, this kind of analysis takes all the pleasure out of

QuoteTonyMo QuoteDoxaNo, that's pure Brian Jones-like colouring, adding a controversial Rolling Stones dimension into a country rock song, thereby making it many times more interesting and dangerous than anything those rednecks in America ever could come up with. Fits damn well especially to the lyrics of the song. And the guy plays like an angel. - Doxa Bravo! Although I must disagr

Some of Mick Taylor solos are absolutely fantastic. But I don't see much point in listening to Stones songs sung by Carla Olson instead of Mick Jagger, never mind the great solo.

The Beatles were a great pop band and especially McCartney was genius. But, apparantly John Lennon was always insecure about being in a pop-band, and not being in a "real raw rock n roll band", which explains his constant bickering towards both the Stones as McCartney. Some of that was justified, in the case of McCartney because on his off-days he would produce crap like Obladiblabla

Fantastic solo, energetic, in your face, rhythmical. What the F did John Lennon know about solos anyway?
