Wonder why Keith doesn't play that black Tele Deluxe any more? Beautiful guitar.

Musically, my least favorite era. Mick's vocals are so lazy and sloppy. He just shouts and slurs with no attempt at actual singing. I think that's why 81 was so good. He actually sang again.

Love the el Mocambo side but the rest of it is dominated by Mick's classic mid 70's lazy vocals. Very little actual singing.

I don't hate it. Just find it a bit silly. As I do his response.

I have a very distinct memory of listening to Some Girls the day it came out back in '78. Shattered is obviously the last song on the album and the way it build to that creepy crescendo and then suddenly just ends was the perfect way to end the album. I remember thinking "Damn this is a good piece of work" and they had woken up from the laziness that made Love You Live (exc

It's when Ronnie first staggers in and Mick is gesturing to his watch that he's late. Marlon is in the scene briefly but pretty clearly telling Woody where he needs to go next.

Watched this one this past weekend and enjoyed it. I grew up in NJ (and went to one of the Meadowlands shows in '81) and now live in AZ so enjoyed the filming locations. Some thoughts on the movie: - The outdoor stage set which seemed so exotic in '81 looked downright quaint. Just a little ramp down from the drum riser. No video screens, special effects, blow up dolls etc. -

Why does Chuck bug me now? Well- simply because you asked- I don't think he handles his role with the appropriate humility. He acts way too much like he's now the 5th Stone. I watched Let's Spend The Night Together recently and was struck by the blue collar musicianship of the two Ians. I didn't intend for this to be the zillionth thread about Chuck. Just wanted to off

My DVR picked this one up the other night and I gave it a look. Hold up well. Some random thoughts: - Love the opening scene where Continental Drift is finishing up and the band comes on stage before the curtain goes up. Charlie does his Cotton Club wiggle, Ronnie's all nervous energy, Mick like a prize fighter about to enter the ring and Keith transforming into Keef. - God damn Bill

Great bridge on that song. Agree- that's a very Stones sounding Mick solo tune.

When I think about my favorite Stones songs or favorite moments on stage during the last 50 years, I always seem to come back to Mick and Keith harmonizing or Keith coming in on the chorus. Why does he do so little of that any more? The obvious answer is "He can't sing any more" but he sounds pretty good on his 2 solo numbers and when he sang harmony on Wild Horses, Memory

He (or his scarf) obviously flubbed the opening chord but he seemed to get it straightened out right away so I don't see what the fuss is. Maybe Micawber has a mind of his own and got it straight for Keef.....

Mick and Keith seemed to have more interaction in that one song than they did in the whole North America trek.

Why is Street Fighting Man not a "war horse"? Sure seems to be worthy of that status. Crowd always responds, historically relevant, great Keith rhythm, etc. wpuld much prefer it to IORR/Miss You etc

Well....this is the album that made me a Rolling Stones fan 38 years ago. I was in 4th grade and just getting into music. Had a couple Beatles and Elton John albums. I had a great aunt who must have been 60 or so at the time and for some reason was a Stones fan. She kept telling me to check them out and for my Birthday that year gave me Ya- Ya's. I still so vividly remember dropp

Absolutely love this album. Just the coolest 70's vibe with so many great players from that time casually popping in for a song or two. Willie Weeks is incredible on this album. When I was in high school and played guitar in a band, my lone lead vocal spot was "Sure the one you need". Great fun doing the Keith snarl/ slur....Everyone assumed it was a Chuck Berry cover! I re

What was the relationship between Nicky and Stu like? Were they mates? Was Stu at all resentful of Nicky's ability? As much as I will always revere Stu you can really tell the songs that Nicky played on. Just a beautiful artist.

It's really easy to take Mick for granted. He's gone through some "annoying" phases but he's never been less than one of the best front men ever. When he gives performances like the 5 just ended, we tend to say "Of course he was great. He's never not been great" instead of noting that not only is it remarkable he's doing this at age 69, in some respect

I'm just really happy to Ronnie look so fit and, for lack of a better word, "content". As much as he's always had the happy go lucky persona, Ronnie has obviously battled some demons for many years. I really thought we were going to lose him a couple of years ago. Not sure if it's the new woman in his life, the sobriety or just finally growing up at age 65 but he
