It's only on the verge of political. One person says "god only knows what the rules are" as these rules are being changed on a whim and another person smugly says "suck up and play by the rules" you may indeed leave it at that

QuoteIrix QuoteNikkei You don't need a birthday to announce it's coming in a few months But there's no Stones tour in 2023. They could use instead the media attention of Mick's 80th birthday to promote the new album. I don't know... they didn't use the media attention around this Desert Trip thing to sell Blue and Lonesome. They played some Little Walter son

I'd imagine that both the most expensive FOS tickets and the LDs/nosebleeds will not change much, but a sort of "pricing wave" will go through the seated floor tickets towards the back. That would be plausible deniability

QuoteRocky Dijon QuoteNikkei At this point it's nonsensical. Inject some actual info into the thread, and people will try and make you feel bad about it Well there's good-natured nonsense and then there are attempts to use a respected forum for disinformation as part of a Drakonian takedown. Forgive me if I misspelled that but I didn't make a mistake. My forum ban preceded coop

They didn't do it for the heck of it, they were filming a documentary and I seem to recall something about Country Honk having been written while they were in South America so this was probably carefully arranged by their staff

Sure but it lets the air out of the "not admitting" part of the argument and that's sort of funny to me

There's this argument that "he never just admits he does it" yet when I was at The Wall in 2011 he announced that he was going to "duet" with a recording of himself from 1980. Obviously these folks want him to come out with "my live shows are not actually live" as if anyone would ever do that but basically he was way ahead of them =)

QuoteRocky Dijon Keith's clip just looked to me like a guitar player picking up a vintage guitar he loved and playing the blues. I doubt he was playing anything other than standard Chicago blues riffs segueing into a bit of Jimmy Reed. In Mick's clip, he was playing along or miming to a track. He's not going to play a master just like the blues harp promo wouldn't let us hea

QuoteTravelinMan I think so. Having the Buy/Sell/Trade forum is awesome. I also think it would be nice to have a few new sub-forums. For instance, all the Mick Taylor related topics get disorganized in the "Mick Taylor Talk" thread. There could probably be an Off Topic sub-forum as well. Off-Topic subforum? That's a recipe for disaster

Quotematxil QuoteStoneage So the fanbase conclusion here is that there is absolutely no need for a new album with original material since their production of new material has been so prolific during the last two decades; spoiling us with new remakes of old songs and new blues covers? And asking for a new album is really the height of insolence and ignorance? Did I get it right? No. There are

QuoteDandelionPowderman As these songs hadn't been released before + that they worked on them, it's a fair point that they deserve a mention, Stoneage. "deserve a mention" is another move of the goalposts. whether something counts as "new material" or not doesn't need a redefinition. but then you're already on to being hyper specific on the month when ABB

QuoteDoxa Looks like you Skippy skipped the idiot section from the great generation: Clapton, Van Morrison and Roger Waters... - Doxa Disagreeing with Roger Waters would be one thing but designating him to the "idiot section" is way more telling about you. Perhaps it's getting sort of difficult to disagree the more you listen to him?

I had a LZ phase when I was about 19 which sort of overlapped with the reunion hype. Agree that the demand for such a one-off is absolutely incomparable with a band that does worldwide megatours every few years. The fact that the Stones could do that puts them in another sphere anyway, only the 1970s are comparable when you look at numbers. I wasn't around then and when I say LZ phase that

Quotelem motlow The biggest mistake the Stones ever made was getting angry at Bill and trying to get him to stay and having this “ you’re in or out “ attitude. If they would have just asked him to play on the records on the rare occasions they made one they could’ve sounded like the Stones. Those rhythm sections from the great bands are irreplaceable.Bonham/Jones, Moon/Ox , Mitchell/Redding,
