Never liked the guy, to be honest. His appearance in the Last Waltz was embarrassing for all involved. The story goes that Robbie Robertson strong-armed the rest of the Band into agreeing to have him on the bill just so RR could promote the ND album he had just produced. RR even went as far as suggesting Muddy Waters get dropped to make room for ND if you believe Levon Helm's take on

Quotefloodonthepage As for shows, ugh. It pains me, but I can't see myself wanting to go to another one. Bob is a all-time artist for me, but his shows lately...well, I'll just say that I know there is great division on this. I'll just say that I'm glad I saw him a lot between 1998-2003. Starting with the show I saw in 2005...."things have changed", so to speak

Sticky Fingers Exile on Main Street Let It Bleed Beggars Banquet All great, but Beggars is a distant 4th for me in this grouping. I enjoy Some Girls and Tattoo You more than BB and Goats Head Soup just as much. But that’s just me.

Sad news indeed. The Cars first record is pretty great. I have always been of the opinion that the best Cars songs are the ones where Ben Orr handled the lead vocals. "Just What I Needed" and "Drive" would be at the top of that list followed by "Let's Go", "Bye Bye Love", "Moving in Stereo" and "All Mixed Up". I have often won

In my humble opinion the versions of JJF and SFD are definitive on Ya Ya's. They surpass the studio recordings and any live versions that I have heard since.

I haven't seen Neil live in almost a decade. Is he going to be playing anywhere in the Northeast in 2019? I need to see him. The setlists the past couple years have been fantastic.

I very much enjoyed the show in Buffalo. There were some sound issues early, but nothing that was too off putting. Daltry still sings a razor line everytime. He's a real pro. Long live rock!

Props to Nick Mason for this tour. What a fantastic idea to dust off these old tracks and give them a proper live reading. I am just a casual Pink Floyd fan. I own most of the records, but don't play them much. have seen Roger Waters live on a handful of occasions. I like the Animals record quite a bit, and Have a Cigar is a great track. At the same time I am mostly bored by the Wall a

I love the Steel Wheels tour. I was only 9 years old in '81 so '89 was my first chance to see the Stones. I've seen at least one show from the tours that have followed, and Voodoo Lounge was my favorite. Was at 4 shows that tour.

Underground Garage is pretty close. I think they average a Stones song per hour. I think there is more than enough material to run a Stones station - especially if they dedicate some of the airtime to artists that inspired the Stones. For my money, the Tom Petty station is the best one. Lots of TP of course. But also you get intermittent songs from Tom's record collection, songs fro

What's up with Howard Stern telling Bob Dylan to "eat shit" as part of his induction speech for Bon Jovi? Tongue-in-cheek? Or is Howard really that stupid?

The show in Buffalo last night was pretty good. I would like to see him mine his back catalogue a little more than he has recently, but the band was tight as ever and his singing has really improved at least in terms of coherence. This was the second show I've seen since the Sinatra songs started featuring prominently in his sets. I must say, his interest in these old standards might be

I would like to see Neil with this band. I think Neil's run of LPs from Everybody Knows this is Nowhere through Rust Never Sleeps is the most impressive run of LPs put together by any of the legends of the era. Having said that, I can't remember the last time I was excited about a new Neil Young song. I just don't think he's got it in him to create new music anymore. I k

QuoteGaetzi I've been on a three day Petty binge that has no end in sight and I'm getting more convinced the guy never wrote a bad song. I'm on board with this. And I also have been on a Petty bender. Another viewing of Running Down a Dream is on deck. Fabulous film.

David Fricke said it well...TP was a true believer in rock n roll...probably even more a believer than the 60s artists he idolized as it turned out Dude could still write songs for the Heartbreakers and Mudcrutch and the band finished the tour last week at the top of their craft...he had more to give which is a shame.

Peter Wolf, who opened on several dates this tour, just phoned in the satellite station as said he observed Petty in a lot of pain this tour. I guess he needs hip surgery but was putting it off.
