Dylan always suggested he was a 'song and dance' man and not a 'protest singer'. Most of his career output supports that assertion. The man is a living legend. I'm looking forward to this release and seeing him again in concert.

Ugh. I detest that program and all others like it. I've staunchly defended the Stones despite some of the mis-steps that have tarnished their legacy (Beverly Hills 90210 episode, Tommy Hilfiger sponsorship, Biz Markie sample etc.) I could not and would not be able to defend any association with American Idol.

I actually prefer Love and Theft to Time Out of Mind. And 'Workingman's Blues' from Modern Times is probably my favorite late-era Dylan song, up there with 'Things Have Changed' from Wonder Boys Soundtrack and 'Not Dark Yet' which is a real tour de force from TOOM. Together Through Life was a step back, IMO. Hopefully this new release will be better.
