Quotesilkcut1978_ So is there anybody with the Super Deluxe Edition AND the 2nd running order (starting with Pass The Wine) with corresponding artwork ? Yes- this what I meant. My US friend has just that.

"The plot thickens" as they say. I've just been talking to a friend of mine in the US, who (like me) bought the super-deluxe box set edition (I'm the the UK btw). His copy of the 2nd cd has the same running-order as the regular 2cd 'deluxe' edition, whereas mine has the tracks in the order mentioned above, ie: starting with 'Loving Cup'. I can only presu

I think the last time I saw this single being discussed, there are apparently 3 variations of it. One is individually numbered up to 1000, the 2nd is numbered also numbered- but much higher & has a different coloured label & the 3rd version isn't numbered AT ALL. The un-numbered version is now selling for as little as £15- so, I wouldn't book yourself a holiday just yet :-)

Hi All, I don't like asking for anything here, as I don't really know how to give anything back (my technical/pc skills are zero). However- "needs must" as they say :-): Someone very kindly sent me a copy of 'Bigtyke's' Altamont '69 Matrix- which is BY FAR the best reworking of the various sources I've ever heard. But, I don't have any de

Hi there, Well, we all had to start somewhere :-). But, you don't actually specify what you're actually looking for, ie: original factory pressed titles, cdr copies etc. I think you've received the above replies, because it sounds like you just want 'something for nothing', which winds people up. But, when you're just starting to collect- then I guess you don&#

It's odd that the "reggae version" only surfaced in 2003 (or was it 2004) out of the blue and alone on the "Tattoo Too" CF. At the time some argued it came from the 1975 sessions where it was supposedly started but it sounds 77/78 to me. I would've said the opposite, ie: the 'reggae version' sounds very much like the new sounds/styles the band was ex

No offense to the person who started this thread, but DAC seem to have completely lost the plot recently. I mean, what the Hell are they releasing stuff like this for AGAIN? (!). Let's not forget that they even released Leeds '71 again fairly recently. It wouldn't be quite so bad, if they made things SOUND better. But- no- they tend to grab torrents, put them through their patent

I think these releases are superb & I actually got very lucky (for once in my life! LOL). Approx: 5 (?) years ago, I bought a couple of them through Ebay. A few weeks later, somebody listed the entire set & I won them with the opening bid of 10 pounds. So, I sold the 2 duplicates & effectively got them all for nothing- in fact I think I made a small profit!. Sorry- I don't want t

Quotedcba It's "funny" to see how the boot world is dead nowadays whereas you can find gems on torrent sites... I don't agree with you re: the boot scene- it's still alive & well & if it wasn't NO boot labels would be bringing out new titles. So, the demand's obviously still there. What's changed is the way people like to collect these 'under

This isn't directed at any specific person, but I've got to admit that I'm kind of bewildered by this: I've hardly EVER seen a post on this site, that hasn't slagged-off Sister Morphine's releases. Yet, now SM seems to have gone under- there seems to be a 'feeding frenzy' of people uploading their titles & falling over themselves, saying they're

I always have mixed feelings about these WLR Boxsets. On one hand: I'd have KILLED to find this kind of release at eg: a record fair when I first started collecting boots, as they DO contain a Hell of alot of classic Stones recordings in a single package. I'm sure the older collectors here would agree with that- I mean it's fine for us to be saying: "Oh- this is a copy of VGP.

The DAC release 'Germany 1970' (DAC-070) features an excellent upgrade of the Cologne Sept' 18th recording on the first disc, apparently taken from the original tape. I know DAC releases are a bit hit & miss & 'Let It Rock'is incomplete (in fact- there's only a few seconds of it). But, this recording is probably the best one I've heard from 1970- even ta

Yes indeedy- it's just that (a Japanese friend of mine sent me this release as an early Christmas present). I mean- this was BOUND to happen, as all the Jap' labels seem to rely on torrents nowadays. This new label (For Fans Only) is an off-shoot of the SODD label & app

I'm beginning to really wish the band would call it a day, while they still have a scrap of dignity left. I mean- God knows how Keith gets health insurance & he was so disorientated for the majority of the last tour, I find the idea of a potential 'line-up change' faintly ridiculous. Where will it end?- guitarists behind the curtains, while Keith isn't plugged-in & is

Personally, I think that over-analysing how music, art etc 'works' is a risky business. As Picasso said: "It took me a lifetime, to learn to paint like a child". That rings SO true to me, as he KNEW how to paint & draw 'correctly'. So, we're talking Rock'n Roll here & I've never taken all this talk of 'weaving' very seriously. I

Quotekream that show (DAC-095) what i've posted here i downloaded from dime and i have not changed anything. so if first uploader ripped his original silver it's mean that DAC made bootleg using lossy, very low bitrate file... except torrent was not from original boot but from mp3 /probably 96kbps/ converted fo flac. QuoteErik_Snow Me also thinks DAC did some nice work on this, compared to the original torrent. Much clearer and brighter, albeit hissy Maybe it could've been done better? Would be interesting to hear some work (of the original torrent) made by a DIME or IORR member....instead of laying it all in the bootleger's hands to get Helsinki 1970 sound right. Quotestraycat58 is it different form the original one already posted here ? Somebody posted this DAC here very recently: Apparrently it's a low bit-rate, but it's in Flac. I compared it to the torrent & DAC HAVE (for once) slightly improved it imo. They've increased the highs, so it's less dull & muddy (which is ironic- as DAC usually do the opposite! LOL). Of cou

Of course, if this is true it's kind of sad. But, Charlie is a man of great integrity & the one member who played consistently well on the last tour. I guess he's smiling in the recent pictures, because he's playing with great musicians. The plain truth is that Keith & Ron AREN'T great musicians now. Many of the band's last shows were down right embarrassing imh
