It seems that promo copies have been sent of the first four remasters. People I trust a bit say they are disappointed; it seems that Marcussen took out the bass a bit and gave more power to the middle frequencies so that these now sound louder (or brickwalled some might say!) It seems they took the old Bob Ludwig tapes without correcting the azimuth adjust. Hold on to your vinyl copies!

Mine has the first disc kind of see-through, is it this what's pictured here? ( Upper right and left in the second row ) Sorry, but I cannot see it too clearly. Second disc is white on my copy too.

Quotemidnrambler This is also available as The Complete Cow Palace Tape (IMP-CD 045-048) and It's Only Rock'n Roll (VGP-036/037). No Sir! VGP 036/037 has the show from the PREVIOUS day, that concert was posted by Urban Steel a few weeks ago.

Quotebelubettlo Thanks for the link to the old Palomino post; forgot to search before posting! I got the files from Guitars 101, so no FLAC. Cheers. Please, don't get me wrong, it sure is nice of you to post this here, you couldn't have reckoned with the old post over a year ago. And the notes you quoted are new to me, so there!

Every time I hear him sing "She Once Lived Here", there's a tear in my eye! Seems to be of the same quality I have; here's a link to a previous Palomino post:

Thank you for posting this! I already have more or less two versions of this show, one is from the Tendolar bootleg. Running order of the songs is always different! Will compare the quality of yours with mine. Do you also have a Flac version?? According to the homepage with Byrds performances, they played at the Pilgrimage Theatre in Hollywood on the same night. I think this was discussed yea

If I don't mix this up, I think a picture exists; wasn't it in some English magazine like "Mojo" or "Uncut" a few years ago??!

Thanks for posting this; it sounds quite like the "Catch Your Dreams" bootleg I have. When DAC released it, they tried to give it a fuller sound and they corrected the speed, Urban Steel offers the DAC version here:

QuoteErik_Snow I wonder if stuff like these complete July 10th/13th tapes and the complete Essen/Hamburg 1973 tapes are still being hold on to by a couple of people, or if the bootlegers just threw them away after releasing their product back then? Impossible question to answer.... I am under the impression that Hamburg 73 is around?!?

There was an obscure British (?) vinyl single about ~ 20 years ago called "The Lost Sheep", my hopes were high that it would appear in this show!

I found these links on expectingrain: Duane has cancer and it has reached terminal status. I quite like his music, his "Far From Perfect" album sounds like he is influenced a lot by the "Sticky Fingers" era Stones, you might give it a listen or better still send some good wishes or prayers, he needs us and he's a great guy!

From the "Weissbuch": "The Rest Of The Best-The Rolling Stones Story 2" was issued in Dec. 1983; in Dec. of 1984 it reappeared for six weeks with a bonus one sided 7' inch single containing "@#$%& Blues", the set even had a large "CS" sticker on the front! I don't have this! But I have the 10' inch bootleg, in black vinyl, if you'

Quotestone-relics I love that Adelphi Records Joujouka.....Never seen that one. I have quite a few of the Local Virginia bands on that label, The Rockin Rev., Nighthawks, Skip Castro, Allstars, etc. JR Also got the Rosslyn Mountain Boys? The guy who owns Taxim Records over here in Germany is their Number One fan. Me, I'm not so sure.

Thank you very much Scott & Jos!!! Compared to the vinyl bootleg I own ( "...Sad songs Is All I Know" on Thrown Records ) this runs a little bit faster. Anybody know why "Rip This Joint" is shortened?? Runs only over one minute, third verse and refrain missing?! Is that a probem with the file??

Quotescottkeef The best Hip-O release for me is "The Sir Douglas Quintet- The Complete Mercury Masters"!!!!! 5 CDs I'm sure at least ONE person here agrees! Well, Scott you know you can always ( or better mostly ) count on me, but it is really hard for me to make a decision here, I mean those Chuck Berry, Muddy Waters and Bo Diddley releases are really great, aren't they!?
