Since that thread is closed...I never saw the need to add guitar solos to SMU, Satisfaction, etc. when played live. The studio recordings have stood the test of time and don't have guitar solos. To think this song was recorded in 1979 and did not make Emotional Rescue! Maybe they are too close to their songs and can't hear the magic in them??? I'd say the same for Misty Roads, I Need You, Not The Way To Go, What Gives You the Right... It's amazing that they didn't think they were release worthy. They are some of my favorite songs.

I agree with Bass about the "Friday Night Is Killing Me" album by Bash & Pop. One of my favorite albums. There are a few obsure albums like that that have a very Stonesy sound with a great combination of acoustic ballads and weaving guitar rockers.
