Quoteron091 Burl's Creek festivals are notoriously bad to get into and out of. The Boots & Hearts festival last year took 3 hours to get to it from Toronto and we didn't stay until the end of the night so can't comment on how long it would have been to get away. My advice is take the shuttle bus! At least you can party, rest, eat, drink and/or sleep on the way back and leave

Wherever they pick, I hope they can rehearse with the full tour PA. In 2015 they sounded great. Seeing The Who 8 days ago, 2nd date of the tour, granted with an orchestra, but the could was flat and unbalanced for half the show. In 2019, if well-rehearsed, they should have that down.

Quoteswimtothemoon Many bargains remain for the Grand Rapids show. $20 seats plus many seats in the front for $150. Seems tickets are moving slow. Same here in Buffalo. I thought the show was overpriced at the top end, and seeing those tickets going for less than half their original price straight from the box office (not even scalpers) tells me (and hopefully band management) that they were o

The Who, May 9th, Buffalo (Yes, I know it's 'the two' not 'The Who' to many, but when I last saw them for the first time post-Entwistle, 2 years ago, they were very surprisingly, very good, dipping into some parts of the catalog I had never heard them play live).

Have the Stones has an actual real producer since Exile? It sounds like Jimmy Miller was not in control during GHS from bits I've read and the whole feel of that record being so different from the preceding Jimmy Miller records.

The Buffalo show is not selling well at all. $122 or $87 or $46.50 a ticket on Ticketmaster with at least 30-40% of seats available, plus plenty of aftermarket tix. I may head down and grab one for $10-$15 night of the show. Cover band with a good light show playing interesting covers.

The first Stones show I attended! I had an old boot of this on vinyl that was terrible. Then again, the sound that day was not good - not nearly loud enough where I was 50 yards from the stage. Looking forward to hearing this show. Thanks for your work!

Though Toronto is under 2 hours away, I am skipping this show and instead going to go for scalped tix for New Jersey. I LOVE Toronto. But having the show in Burl's Creek is just going to be a huge hassle getting in and out. Glad they added a show for the fans in Toronto who have been lay and supportive. I just don't want to live in traffic for hours.

What became of what was CNE Stadium, where they played 2 shows in 1994?

They can go back to Downsview and play a much better show than they did at Sarsfest. They truly got blown off the stage that day. Molson Park in Barrie? Or possibly Toronto Island. Bitch to get to and from but would fit 45,000+. I saw Arcade Fire there several years ago. Oshawa Civic Center? Is it still there?

The first Stones record I chose not to buy the it came out, and never have since. Although I thought the title song was interesting and unique, the writing, in general, was really weak. Indian Girl may be the worst Stones song ever. Where The Boys Go just a bad attempt at sounding 'punk', then the lame popiness of the girls vocal coming in is just embarrassingly bad. Many of the trac

Nice point comparing to a guitar solo, Doxa. I don't think she destroys the song by any means. The crowds love her interpretation of it. I just love Merry Clayton's original so much, I'd prefer whoever sings it keeps the same dark vibe. Much like Steve Vai could create some crazy solos if guesting on-stage with the Stones, I don't think they need it and would not add

I agree that Lisa's live vocals on Gimme Shelter seemed to be all about her and not the song. Great instrument in her voice with huge range and power, but I think she tried to make the song about her fireworks - and however powerful her voice is, it distracted from the dark emotions of the original. That being said, she is very talented. Got a lot of publicity with 20 Feet From Stardom

Thanks. I downloaded 1978 May-June_Down_Under_Records_(DUM003)_In_Woodstock_(1978_Tour_Rehearsals) Some interesting stuff. I see other versions out there that have more material and plan on checking them out. Seeing all the directions they go in during what is on this recording is quite an eye opener.

I lost both a laptop and the hard drive it was backed up to. Slowly rebuilding all that is missing. I had a boot (found on IORR) of alternate Let It Bleed material, particularly Keef on vocals for Gimme Shelter. I found 2 entries for alternative Let It Bleed recordings in the Stones Archive spreadsheet but both links are dead. Does anyone know that name of a bootleg that may have this mat

A Stones fanatic friend (the best kind) told me yesterday that he has heard what was said to be an amazing version of IORR from supposedly an El Mo rehearsal or soundcheck, that was on YouTube for a short time and disappeared. According to him, he 'wanted whatever Keith was on because he was absolutely on fire'. Stunning guitar work supposedly. Hearing Dance Little Sister from El Mo,

Lindsey is playing the Riviera Theater here. The venue is known for oldies (50s-60s) acts and tribute bands and holds maybe 1,000. There is actually a Fleetwood Mac tribute band playing there soon. Seems kind of sad that Lindsey is getting gigs at that level and FM is playing our 18,000 seat arena. I plan on skipping both and using the same $$ saved to see bands to patronize bands that are

I have stopped trying to judge the quality of the show by the recording, even if it's a soundboard. 1. How the band sounds 'in the room' is usually quite different, for better or worse. 2. Recording gear can capture a lot, but often does a bad job of capturing power, and bands like The Stones (and The Who esp) project power into the room of their better shows. It can just s

Thanks for collecting and posting. I just listened to DH3 and looking forward to DH4. Missed out on 1 and 2 but love hearing these collaborations. I knew Mick Taylor made the bad decision to go from the Stones to hooking up with Jack Bruce, who seems to maybe have been as deep into heroin as Keef (or deeper) at that point. I have heard very little of their short marriage. Looking forward to

Quotekevos This is great info. Thanks so much. Not really sure why Rambler, Dice & Miss You are done every show nowadays? If its cos they think they are crowd pleasers There are certainly others more well known that they could churn out every night. Anyway whatever they play Im just blessed to be going tomorrow, been waiting 5 years since Hyde Park. I wish I had of done the 14 On Fire tour
