Fabulous artist--- his influence cannot be ignored--- The Harder They Come soundtrack is one of the best soundtracks EVER... and stands up over the years--- his tracks on that album influenced everyone from Keith to McCartney to Lennon and set the stage for artists like Bob Marley, Peter Tosh and the whole Reggae explosion in the 70's Had a chance to see him in 1977 and he was great--- don&

I thought the Dead were good when they were 'reigned in"-- Workingmans Dead, American Beauty, Terrepin Station, etc-- I lost the plot when they would drift off into those jams....I saw them once and its seemed like they only played two songs and the show went on for hours....I know they were into improvisation like Jazz musicians, but boy it could really get boring-- but I do have to s

Have not heard the new release yet, but look forward to it- I will give Sunflower another listen, but its never been one of my favorites. Surfs Up, Holland, Carl & The Passions were all on my playlist over the years-- I always thought "Marcella" from Carl & the Passions was sooo overlooked. A killer track for sure.

Just been listening to the Peter Tosh / Jagger duet on "Don't Look Back" and it still blows me away even after all these years ! The other killer Jagger duet is with Peter Wolf on 'Nothing But the Wheel" from Wolf's superb "Sleepless" release-- Any others worth taking a 2nd or 3rd listen to ? "You're So Vain" stands out, but his duets w

If the Byrds were considered the American Beatles, then I'd have to say the Allman Bros were the American Stones. Bluesy, gritty, tough and powerful. Live at the Fillmore, Eat a Peach, Brothers & Sisters all classics. As a solo artist, I always loved Gregg Allman's version of Jackson Brownes song "These Days"-- check it out when you get a minute. Thanks for all th

For me, Electric Ladyland was THE Hendrix album--- Are You Experienced and Axis both had lots of great moments and great songs, but Ladyland absolutely floored me. Still to this day,40 + years later, I still can hear new things in it when its on. Brilliant.

Are You Experienced, Axis, and especially Electric Ladyland are all killer albums for sure-- groundbreaking, influential, all ahead of their time. But you cant knock the Beatles. in the short span of 7 years they went from "She Loves You" to Abbey Road. Classic after classic after classic. Hendrix was like a shooting star-- blazed across the skies and then was gone.

In Keiths book, he mentions toward the end that he and McCartney wrote a song at Keiths place in either Jamaica or the Turks ---- Also, didn't Keith and Jack White write and record a couple of songs together ? As far as Keith and Lennon---? I don't see it-- even though they were good friends, I don't see them as a writing team at all---if they did, it probably would have been
