The gaps between tours are getting shorter, on average, than since the 60s/early 70s. Why? Could be several reasons: - money is better... but after the first £50M in the bank, who cares - so only Ronnie probably cares about this - they enjoy it... Ok so some places and some gigs are boring etc., but overall you can sense that they really enjoy it (even Charlie); maybe not spending 60% of 2

I don't think Plant will tour unless they have some new material. That seemed to be the case with Page/Plant in the '90s, and he keeps saying how he won't just played "old stuff". So if the rumours of the others working up some new ideas whilst the Plant/Krauss tour is on is correct.... it may just happen...

In the middle of one track Mick sang a couple of verses, and played the guitar licks, to "I'm Tore Down" - Freddie King song. I also thught they nearly jammed into the last bit of CYHMK...

I guess these comments are harsh because a) when you pay good money you expect professionals to try and out on a decent show and b) it is so sad when they had all the elements of a great show,,,, and then screwed it up! makes you realise how real pros (like the Stones) work on delivering a great show irrespective. .... and having a couple of strong characters keeping everyone in line helps - j

Just a brief one as I am at work.... Firstly Mick played brilliantly: first time I have seen him live; when he played a solo all those '72 and '73 tour gigs came back to mind. A true master of the guitar to this day. Unfortunately he isn't a band leader: the organisation (set list, who was playing etc.) was a mess. Taylor went into a sulk several times and walked-off: very un

My favourite DVD as I can see myself on it in the crowd in the middle of HTW... and Ronnie totally lost the plot during the solo in Hand of Fate at the gig... overdub I wonder, or solo taken from another club show?

I have "met" him two times. First was at the Kampuchea charity gig in Ringwood Hampshire in 1985 (I think). Bill was just hanging around by the stage and when passing I said "hello": in those days he had a security man close by. He nodded back and smiled. Second time was a couple of years ago at a book signing (the metal detecting one). He was very chatty; just him and I as

First Theatre gig I saw. Great atmosphere; really rocked. They didn't play for much more than 90 minutes, but every one was priceless: a mixture of the proximity and set list.

How many people who post on this site would be able to run/dance and sing for 2 hours (with a 10 minute break)?? Or bash the drums?? their shows in the 60s and 70s were far shorter - and the setlists much more consistent from show to show. Lets face it, Keith only did Happy for years.

And Jimmy Page did state in court that he didn't mind fans "trading" material, but objected to people selling it! On a related topic, I heard a strong rumour last week that the Led Zep reunion will indeed take place next year....

according to reuters.. Wouldn't it be a great idea for the Stones to do a Bo Diddley song in the "tribute" slot next year. Why select an artist to pay homage whilst they are still alive?? OK Mick/ Chuck/ Keith?

Maybe there won't be any more mega "world tours", who wants to take out 1-2 years of committment. But if you are enjoying yourselves, and it either doesn't cost you money or maybe even makes some, why not carry on with a mini tour every year... So 2007 - May to end August (rehearsals to end of tour -4 months): Europe 2008 - Jan to end April.... 4 months: South Asia, Gulf

I understand that Tim Ries and Blondie/Bernard are touring in May... so unless they change plans that implies any srping tour ends by then. I guess?? If the Stones want to stay touring each year, I am not complaining!

If you look at the official setlists that are sometimes up on the fan sites, you will see that BV Offstage (backing vocals) appears against some songs. Also BC Guitar (Blondie) is offstage occasionally although less now. I have a setlist for San Sebastian here (can't easily upload) and BV is on all the B stage songs, and BC guitar on two (Its all over now and Satisfaction). I also hear

He is a very nice guy. Rough start to working music life in apartheid South Africa; and has written and played some really good stuff. I think pretty close to Keith now - and I never heard him abuse or use that connection with fans. I have met him a few times in the last couple of years, and except when I think I really pissed him off yesterday at the Tim Ries gig (me not thinking and him misu

I think you have more chance of seeing Jesse's Dad (and pals) on 22nd at Tim Ries if thats the priority: almost the end of tour jazz party: 4 of the support band playing plus "special guests"....and a larger venue that copes with "VIPs".

The side effects of this drug are made worse by alcohol, and they read like some of the reports of Keith's "off days" on this tour. So these "off days" could well be the result of this drug, maybe with a little booze to exaggerate the effects.. Maybe a bit more understanding (Sympathy!!) instead of negative comments in future. Many people would have given up work t

and the reason for the change is that the Borderline tickets were selling so fast (with no official publicity yet) that it would clearly sell out! The Mean Fiddler will take approx 500 people. I also heard that Darryl will also play...its beginning to feel like and end of tour party!

The Borderline gig is in a great location, Soho, and is partly supporting a charity for homeless people (many thanks to Tim Ries to doing this). Only 250 people in an intimate venue. Tickets are selling fast I hear, for what should prove to be a great gig between the first two O2 nights!
