Honest Man, how could I thank you? Peter Beard is my all time favourite photographer and I do love hos work with the Stones. Wish that famous book he was supposed to do with Truman Capote about the Exile tour would come out one day or the other ...

For me the July 28th 2006 show at Stade de France had a very special meaning. I went there with my brother after a very disappointing opening show in Milan a month earlier and a devastating divorce 3 weeks earlier. Let's just say the Stones had better play a great one that night and, thank lord, they did. I do still remember me and my bro's grins after hearing the 1st 45 seconds of o

QuoteTaylor Era ... whereas the Black Crowes started off sounding like any bar band playing the Southern Ontario club circuit, and they still do; The Black Crowes sounding like a bar band? You must be outta your mind. Their songs, apart those from the 1st album, are the least obvious ones I heard from a contemporary rock band. IMHO they are more in the Allman Brothers league rather than the St

Liddas, alost everytime someone mentions the BCs the very first term associated to them is "Stones rip-offs". Defining them Stones rip-offs means not having a serious idea of what the Stones or the Black Crowes trademark styles are.

The reason everybody here hates the Crowes it's because they show exactly what the Stones are lacking nowadays. I mean, I have no idea what the BCs will be like in 26 years, still, they do still deliver awesome shows, awesome performances, great original, yet derivative, records and are still in touch with their fanbase. In other words, all of these positive sides of their career are compl

Mmm ... during his speech James Hetfiled did the right thing by mentioning all the bands that deserve being inducted and won't because of stubborness or ignorance of the board: Iron Maiden, Alice Cooper, Kiss, Motorhead, Thin Lizzy and others. One thing that shocked me is how much ass kissing was going on on that stage, I mean, I like Metallica but Flea's speech was as if he'd bee

Quotetimbernardis dunhill: yes we do want to preserve these buildings, but one historical note about Mussolini's attempt to create a "new" Rome somewhat along the lines of ancient Rome is that, for example, his rerouting of the wide avenue that runs near the ancient Colosseum, in the process of its construction, destroyed some ancient archeologial sites connected to ancient Rome/t

Quotetimbernardis Why they werent bombed out of existence is beyond me. I think the large stone swastika that once adorned the top of the comlumned building/facade was blown up and in fact i think there is historical footage of its explosion. The Fuhrerpodium is still there. However awful of a place, it should always be preserved for history and as testament to that time and that terror. It

I love Luxury and talked my Stones tribute band to play it with very welcome response from crowds. It's got a strong chord progression and Keith backing vocals are very cool. Another obscure favourite of mine off IORR is Short and Curlies, groovy track.

I have seen some pretty bad openers like Dan Reed Network,Big Country, Cranberries, Sheryl Crow and on eband I can't even remember their name (Paris, July 06). Luckily I got a few great ones like the Hives in Stockholm and Bob Dylan with the Black Crowes in Montpellier 1995, that was a great package.

I did attend the above mentioned show and finally I got the name of the opening band. They sucked big time and no one knew who they where, that's why he fled to the South of France, otherwise they woulda hanged out in Paris and party the hell out of the city like the Stones did many times. Loser!

The '82 Tour is my very first memeory of the Stones. I remember being 8 in '81 when there were talks of this rock n' roll band called The Rolling Stones. I am from Genova and aloso our Luigi Ferraris stadium had been considered to host a show by the band. Our local newspaper titled: "Stones get stadium denied because they would destroy it" and I thought: "Wow, a b

In order not to get crazy with the quotes, I would like to point out that the mention of a very early line-up of GNR was ironical. The line-up with Axl, Slash, Izzy, Duff and Steven is the classic one, much as Mick, Keith, Brian, Bill and Charlie is the Stones' one. Hope people don't wanna go back to Axl and Izzy's Lafayette days in high-school looking for a more obscure GNR line

Quotekeefriffhard4life Quoteguitarbastard gnr without slash, izzy, duff and steven is not gnr. AMEN with the exception of izzy no one you named was even in the original guns n roses so who cares They all were in the original line-up, unless you are talking about the very early days line-up with Tracii Guns, Ole Beich and Rob Gardner.
