QuoteDandelionPowderman Quotenoughties This is the Achilles heel of the album. I heard it from day one. What do you mean? It`s quite a common expression. Achilles heel = weak point.

The riff is too modern sounding to me. The sweet noise (Ronnie?) too. Is this song Stonesey? It sounds a bit foreign.

Hackney Diamonds has got a very mixed reception, contrary to my expectations. At that musical site, you get "everything". -From the most grumpy casual fan´s "half star" to most the ecstatic impulse based "five stars". The site is a field day for the most unknowledgeable amateur. That said, well known musical landmarks by The Beatles, Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd get lo

This new song is better than the previous 2 new songs in the Anthology series from the 90s, IMO.

A grower, and one of the best tracks on the album. It flows so well (the album too). The snippet a while back didn`t tell much of how great it is.

No need to be as spesific as "Dark wave". The Clash, U2 and The Alarm... -Say no more. Those who had their most fragile youth in the early 80s, here`s something for you. House occupants with black hair like sun beams, and pale skin, I guess there`s still somebody left of you...

It soon grabbed me as one of the more accessible songs on the album together with "Live By The Sword", and I felt kind of grateful. Now I`m not so sure. One poster here called "Mess It Up" too busy. I don`t agree when it comes to that song, but in hindsight, many of the songs on the album have a lot of "musical ornamentation". Maybe it can be a little too much, l

A grower. One of my fave tracks on the album. There`s some 70/80s vibe. Elton John on piano according to the credits sheet.

-Thanks. That proves that at least there was some difference. Makes me think. My first listens to the edit version on the net were just so precious moments...

I`ve always liked the 5 minutes edit version best, but I don`t know if that is just the long version minus the extended jam at the end.

They don`t put much work into LP covers these days. Opening a gatefold used to mean something. -Not always, but it should, I think.

Quotestrat72I'm old school so I have not heard the album, and will not until I go to HMV on Friday to buy it. Yeah, old school me too. I have been imagineing a queue Friday morning, but then again I guess a new album by the Stones is a niche product these days like any other act. However, will they sell out? Who knows? Nostalgia ain`t what it was either, so I think I have to prepare for an

I`m struck by the routine. Mick has found some ballance between being spontaneous and leaning on routine. Routine makes the shows alike. I watched the posted Vienna show from start to Wild Horses. -And didn`t I hear someone shouting "-wünschen Schlager!" during those first songs?

Quotekeefriffhards Keith's wife was fighting extensive cancer in 2007 and his mother died, it effected him and i think he drank heavily on the 2007 tour and posters on iorr bashed him all over, i never could understand the hatred towards Keith back then, do any of you remember it. Yes, I remember it. I saw the Oslo show. Keith was strirkingly little into it back then compared to now.

There are Pink Floyd "fans" who don`t know the name of neither Roger Waters nor David Gilmour. They bought "The Wall" and a "Best of" (to play in the car) and that`s it. Huh?

Today these albums and others too have got the "classic" tag, which means they are reissued, but quite pricey. I was chasing these albums in the used markeds during the 90s and 2000s on the net and elsewhere. There`s some irony to this.

Highly recommended. If you`ve got these, you really don`t need much more. After Paul Jones left, the blues was gone, as can be heard on the disappointing 1966 album As Is. Unfortunately I wasn`t able to put in an image of these three albums, but they are Five Faces of Mann (1964), Man Made (1965) and Soul of Mann (1967)

Quotehockenheim95 I can only second that. Keith was really fantastic tonight! Milan was a Mick show here Keith was way more present. His intro to Knocking was unbelievable good. He even went out to the B-Stage on Satisfaction. Keith wore a bandana in the first part and a hat over it in the second. A very cool look. Mick gave Keith a hug after Can't you hear me knocking! Amazing! I saw i

I don`t think they will play as many as 21 songs. I miss more songs from the comback era, the songs with a hit potential. -Besides, more songs from the mid-sixties.
