U2 makes great studio records. achtung, baby is a HUGE favorite. plus went to opening night of the joshua tree tour and experienced a great moment. Pride was the encore. but opening night bono lost his voice and could no longer sing. didn't matter. because the ASU activity center is shaped like a donut, packed and every person is on their feet singing. LOUD. nice electric moment. but nothing

don't go. seen them every tour since 1985, except for the one i really wanted to see, which was 1991's achtung, baby arena tour. up until 2005, even though they really could not play their instruments (except for the drummer) at least they were entertaining. in 2005 they could both play their instruments and be entertaining. but this 360 tour is truly fake. first off, they have alway

there are two emotional rescue promo's as well. one is a full video version of the album cover shoot. the other is a mix of a conventional band setup and the thermographic photography.

if a PPV along these lines were to happen it seems it would be similar to the movie theater broadcast of the rio show a week after it happened.

buddy guy, at least twice, even though he broke a string once in milwaukee. the pretenders opening a chicago LICKS in '02 was great. pearl jam in pittsburgh was very good. metallica in SF for bigger bang was surprisingly good. the meters in sunshine, florida for bigger bang. charlie stood behind the curtain for their entire set. maybe woody, too. mope acts lose out to the festi

during the '81 tour keith said mick didn't want to work that year. "how do you write off an entire year with one sentence?"

they did a real great version during the "LICKS" tour at comsikey park, chicago, sept 13, '02. kinda low, slinky version. at least it came across well at the show. had the 12", too. when the record was released keith said he felt the album was incomplete because the 12" version was left off the album. keith complained that "mick always went with the 'conservativ

lindsey RULES!! "under the skin" and "gift of screws" tours were great shows. he plays loud noisy electric guitar as well as he plays acoustic. his 1992 "out of the cradle" album is one of the greatest releases ever. equal to "beggars banquet" or "crosby stills and nash" or neil's "after the gold rush". having watched him play ten f

"i am waiting". how's that for an answer. hope these tour rumors aren't "lies". want to get some "sympathy" regarding ticket prices that probably are going to leave my wallet "black n blue". but a tour announcement will surely "start me up".

this is a nice question because everyone can watch the answer. eddie vedder; pittsburgh; wild horses. was great at the show and the video captures the moment almost perfectly. not only did the band play great but mick seemed to really make a point of taking eddie to school and showing him how it's done. the camera doesn't capture this, but during the song eddie is just worshipping at t

i want to see what he has to say about spanish tony and his version of events. hiring tony, crashing the bentley, nellcote, switzerland, the "diamorphine?" he stashed in woody's stables, ect, ect. keith may call this book "the truth", but it's really his version of the things. he always claims muddy was painting the ceiling when he first met him and everyone else say

keith was good on this tour. the rumor i remember from the bridges tour is that mick and keith wanted to be the stars of the show and demanded to woody he just stand there and not get in the way. but i also had a funny experience during the 2006 leg of bigger bang. in seattle & oakland i was six seats from the b-stage/keith's side and rail crashed for the four songs, in front of kei

in 2002 i was blessed/lucky enough to go to roseland. showed up early, got in early, down front. the VIP section, which was actually the original stage, was to our right. and standing as close to the stage as possible, way before dr. john, was james taylor. he was leaning against the wall, hands in his pockets, waiting just like we were. after a while they brought a chair out for his wife so she

i find all these announcements of "FINAL" to be laughable. as hardcore stones fans we all know mick would NEVER say final. keith or charlie either. there are only two (?) promoters nowadays that could run the tour. and it appears that one is trying to sabotage the other's chances by releasing press announcements saying "the stones are in talks with (these asswipes) about promo

i saw this tour. great thing about neil is he always delivers. great show. the new songs they are talking about are okay but really, the songs he put on "fork in the road", which the critics hated, were better. only an opinion. could have been because the band was great.

there are basically two points i'm trying to make. 1) any rolling stone article on altamont is tabloid journalism and exploitative. they are more worried about selling magazines and making money. with them blame equals visability, visability equals dollars. 2) there is a constant rationalization that there is no difference between having a gun pulled on you and being in a fist fight. no

first off i wouldn't believe a thing some BS "ROLLING STONE" reporter said about altamont. the facts are, which are never stated, san francisco was the runaway capital of the USA in 1969. lots of messed-up, damaged people. even in 1967 when george visited SF he said it was just spotty, dropout kids with no future. the beatles believed the hype and thought it would be cool but found

i was at slane. not great but upper 50's with light rain, which did stop for the stones. the wind messing with the sound was worse. plus, the walk into slane was ridiculous. easily two miles on a mud path in the woods. and that's not counting the two mile trek from where the buses parked to the front entrance gate. with people everywhere stepping to the side of the road to take a piss.

no question, GREAT TOUR!! it's even been said it's a favorite of the band themselves. but there's one very important factor about the tour that is never mentioned. KEITH. during the summer of '78 we still had no idea what was awaiting keith in canada. they seemed to do what they wanted on this tour. remember, there was no press access (incredible whining) stadium gigs here, th

there were three takes videotaped. i think these are the three different versions. once it gets to the crowd joining in watch the girl in the white dress next to paul. in one she is sitting next to paul. in one she is standing and singing with the guy in the light blue suit behind paul to her right. and in one she has the guy in the light blue suit to her left trying to shove her out of the way w

it's the way the show started. bill and charlie first with woody and keith dropping in as they enter the stage. always thought it sounded great. different cities (LA, chicago ect) seem to have different mixes of the show. made my bootleg as it happened from WLS FM, chicago, which somehow had a horrible signal the night of the show. however keith was dominant in the unmixed broadcast, which w
