Greetings oldbarbarian, Any idea what bar in Dublin Ronnie was in?? Quoteoldbarbarian78 He was at an upscale bar in Ireland when the bar tender mentioned that Ronnie would be in soon. Sure enough, he, Ekat, his son and his son's gf arrived. He said Ronnie was really friendly and was drinking black russians like they were going out of style. Guess our boy is off the wagon again

QuoteNikolai QuoteTooTough The official version is shorter and has David Sanborn on sax, not as good as the outtake version. I prefer the outtake version. Then again, I prefer the extended version of She Was Hot too. If I may ask - where does one find this extended version of 'She Was Hot'? I love the track (quite a fan of the 'Undercover' album in general), and woul

Great post Liddas, I would agree with you - like any band, sure, the stones have off nights and many here would feel the ABB tour had one too many off nights. But, from what I've seen - 5 shows Live, many more on DVD - the stones still inspire, they still create magic on the stage.

Just the local watering hole - okay, quite a famous one given it's location to Government Buidlings here, but still 'tis the "local" watering hole for us on this street. Who walks in last night but the one and only Neil Young!! Got the chance to chat with the great man, got an autograph, AND, bought him and his wife a pint of the black stuff! A very Gracious & right

The Manic Street Preachers tour opening night was last night in Glasgow! Reports are excellent - they played a massive 28-song set: The first half of the show is the new album, IN FULL. The 2nd half of the show is a 15-song Greatest-Hits; including my Numero Uno fave Manics track: La Tristessa Durera!! Going to be brilliant shows in Ireland next week! Here's the set: Peeled

They'll only play the stuff Blondie Chaplin knows the chords to^ I would't miss "You got me Rocking", attempts to grant it warhorse status ain't working; a competent track, but lifeless more often than not onstage.

Many thanks for the replies! 283 songs, quite a lot, I was almost there with my 282 guess^ When you figure in the widely bootlegged unreleased tracks, you've well over 300 Rolling stone originals, quite a body of work.

Greetings! Just a curiosity really - is there an official count of the number of original Rolling stones songs released? I think up to 1981, including 'Tattoo You', excluding covers, there was something like 192. Since then, 'UnderCover' onwards to present day, I count it as 90. Totalling around the 282 mark. Is there more??

Howdy! Never heard those Rotterdam Rehearsals, though am a big fan of GHS! If I may ask - what's the sound quality like on those Rotterdam R'sals? Do they rehearse many songs from GHS? Must try and find this if 'tis on a torrent!

'Dia dhuit' (Hello to one an' all) YouTube is such a goldmine of stuff, there is a very cool item I have been looking for for an age^ An excellent Jagger / Richards / Taylor interview on Dutch TV from '73: If anyone has this one on DVD, I could trade, or send blanks, or whatever, would love my very own copy! Many thanks from here!

'Steel Wheels' seems to be one of the most dividing albums among fans It does sound too perfect, too polished, little of the swagger we know the boys for. Among all of that studio polish though are 5 gems. '..Drift', ' Break the Spell' & 'Terrifying' are all just so good imo, and when you add those to two of the band's greates ever ballads,

That Dublin show, December 8th 2001, was magnificent! Ramshackle, raucous rock'n'roll, had a wonderful time! Great band - Ronnie, Slash, it seemed half of Ronnie's family was on stage with them^ Plus Frankie Gavin and I think Andrea Corr was there? A mix of stones hits, Faces tracks, solo Wood numbers and even G'N'R's "Paradise City", a night to rem

Let me add my 'Two Cents' to this one - Just bought the Who's "Kilburn '77 / London '69" DVD yesterday, already have watched the whole thing, and I must say, it iss absolutely fantastic!!! London '69 is a revelation, the band simply cooking, wonderful show! Kilburn starts slowly, but they really start kickin' in the 2nd half. So great to see this

Love this one, it just grooves, maaan! On the whole I think the "VooDoo..." album is brilliant, simply a great collection of songs and some equally great B-Sides, 'The Storm' in particular being a gem. "..Lounge" bristles with life, a wonderful Rolling Stones album.

'All Nightmare Long' is brilliant, hands down the best song 'Tallica have come up with in quite a while. An 8-minute riff-fest! The album as a whole is their best since '89's "Justice" opus, easily surpasses the mid-nineties 'Loads' and the massively overrated 'Black Album'. Welcome back Metallica!
