Shook hands with Keith and had a quick chat as he boarded a yacht in Stockholm '03. Shared a British Airways flight with Charlie Watts from Amsterdam to London August '03. Sat down the aisle from Ronnie Wood at a Bob Dylan concert in 1979. Rubbed shoulders with Ronnie at his art reception in Las Vegas '02. I ended up buying a limited edition self-portrait print of

You can count me in as one disillusioned Bruce "fan"...although admittedly, I've never liked him in the first place. His recent meanderings into US politics have ruined it for all the other Bruce fans I know. They've simply had enough of him! Like U2, the Boss will never step in the footsteps of the true genius musician - Bob Dylan.

They should call themselves BOO- WHO. The band pretty much ended when Keith Moon died. Then the recent tragic death of the OX was definitely the final nail in the coffin as far as I'm concerned. They are now a mockery of their former selves. I used to love them, but it's all over now...Boo-Who... Hopefully Mick and Keith would never stoop so low.

It would never work as an opener because it barely works as any part of the set-list in general. Micks falsetto ain't what it used to be. Listen to any recent live performances of this song, and you almost cringe when Mick yelps out "Baby"!!! I used to love this song as part of Tattoo You, but the recent live versions have tainted my enthusiasm. Same goes with Can'

No matter how fat Mick T. is, he still stands head and shoulders above Ronnie Wood. I saw him live at the 100 Club in London in '03, and his performance was amazing. I was also at the Stones Astoria show that same week, and dare I say that Mick Taylors show was better? Slightly an exaggeration, but the fact is he still plays a mean guitar, and the Stones are sorely missing his virtuosit

Ronnies role is to be a clown, and someone for Mick and Keith to kick and yell at when things go wrong onstage. Sadly, his contributions to the Stones have been minimal, even to the point now that he only adds overdubs. Sad, sad, sad. Whatever happened to the outrageous and raw guitar talent that Ronnie once was before he joined the Stones? His "voice" has been silenced forever

I could never understand Tom Waits - he's ruff, gruff...and out of control. Whats so great about that? I realize he somehow inspired Keith (hairstyle?) and the Stones, and vica versa...but I don't see what all the fuss is all about.

I honestly don't have any appreciation for U2 anymore. Maybe in the early '80's, but that was over 20 years ago. I saw them in 1983 at the US Festival...they kind of rocked...but in a new wave kind of way. Kind of like Duran Duran, Flock Of Seagulls, Depeche Mode, and all that other crap. Then they sold out...grew their hair long, became wanna-be hippies...and relesased a

Tommy was a "documentary"? I don't think so. The last time I saw it, it was a movie based on the album Tommy by the Who, and featured actors (Oliver Reed) and actresses (Ann-Margret) playing the various roles. Roger Daltrey played Tommy. Keith Moon played Uncle Ernie. Tina Turner played the Acid Queen. Eric Clapton played a memorable version of "Eyesight To The Bli

FULL METAL JACKET Not necessarily a rock'n'roll movie...but the closing credits ignite when the Stones' PAINT IT BLACK erupts from the blackened screen. Plus, there's lots of Vietnam war violence...totally rock and roll in my opinion.

My brother was there. I remember was him telling me about the chaos and confusion down on the field in the first few rows...like a rugby scrum...or mosh pit...people pushing and shoving...and shoes hitting the stage.

The myth of Keith's OPEN G... As a matter of fact, Keith has almost admitted to steeling the Open G from Ry Cooder. I believe it's a documented fact that Ry Cooder taught Keith almost everything he knows as far as open tuning goes - post 1968. It's written in a recent interview with Keith in MOJO magazine from 2 years ago.

Speaking of Lionel Ritchie...how about the Commodores "Easy Like Sunday Morning"?!!! Seriously, they should probably cover a Bob Marley & Wailers song (Get Up, Stand Up...Lively Up yourself, etc.) and forget about trying to reinterpret a '70's disco classic such as Love Train. I also love LOVE TRAIN, but only the original by the OJays...the Stones added nothing to i

Ticketmaster UK was a disaster last tour. They screwed up several times throughout the tour, even sending out wrong seats for a wrong seating plan for the final Wembley show. Fans had to actually send their tickets back after waiting anxiously for them to finally arrive. Beware of the nightmare.

Love Train...that wasn't the best of choices, was it? The surprise was fun for about 10 seconds, and then it seemed embarrassing. Keith didn't look happy at all during this song, it was all because of Micks meanderings and shennannigans that was the cause for this pick of songs. If we're to guess on what the next cover will be based on the Love Train choice, it wouldn't

Yes Baboon Bro, In the late '70's I was heavily into the Clash and hard-core Jamaican reggae. I still love it all, but the Stones have stood the test of time, and nowhere can you experience a concert as fun as any Stones concert. Lets just hope Keith can still pluck a tune or two properly by the time the next tour starts rolling. Things were getting a bit sketchy at the end of

I first saw the Stones as an 18 year old in 1981 TWICE at the L.A Colisseum thanks to my older bro. I was born and raised on the Stones/Beatles - (born in '63) - and if I wasn't hearing my brother playing the Stones on the record player, I was hearing them on the the radio or at my Aunts house while I she was babysitting. Then a couple years later,, I recall my brother b

Yes...very true Ernest...and if I recall correctly Ronnie was over in the corner of the B-stage twiddling his thumbs and making funny facial expressions. But still...what an experience it was! At any rate, it's all Mick and Keith anyways, no matter what, although M.T did give it a few nice twists and turns while he was making a stab at it in the early '70's. There's no

I agree that it's one of the best songs the Stones play live. But still I stand by the original, the rest are simpley new renditions and variations of the original studio masterpiece. With that said, I'll admit that the one of the highlights of the many Licks shows I saw last tour was being front row B-stage in Los Angeles standing in front of Keith and Mick who were annihilating t

I stand by the original studio version any time. Absolutely the best of them all. There's nothing darker and meaner than the tone of each and every instrument -including Micks vocals -this is definitely the absolute perfect version.

Wow!!! Unbelieveabley great news. Looks like the Stones will be grinding on all cylinders soon enough! I can't wait any longer for the new album/tour, etc.! But where were his real friends when he needs them most?...Keith, Charlie...or even Bill Wyman for heavens sakes?!!! Did Ronnie play well?! Tell us all about it!!! Mick making a special appearance? UNBELIVABLE!!!

My girlfriend is a vegetarian, so we usually get the Garden Special (tomatoes, zucchini, green peppers, olives, onions, etc.) But when she's not home, I go for a double dose of pepperoni and Italian sausage with mushrooms. A traditional tossed crust with a crispy outer edge, yet soft and chewy in the middle!

I thought thread this was going to be about the graphics to the album cover IORR...one of my least favorite covers from the Stones. The concept was nice (hero-worshipping the Stones), but it's outdated, airbrush look has the appearance of an amatuer artist, even though I realize the artist was well-known at the time. I don't know his name, but hopefully he moved away from the air-brus

HAPPY in it's entirety. I wish it would have been longer to begin with. A completely different lead guitar section to embellish the rest of the song would have been great, and then the fade-out of Mick and Keith screaming at the top of their lungs..."Happy"!!! The song is awesome no matter what though, easily in my top 4.

Made In The Shade - I was 13 years old at the time of it's release. Born in '63, I was brought up with Stones being played all the time by my older brother and aunt, whether hearing them on the radio or on our cheap little old record player But it wasn't until I was a young teenager that I invested in them with my own time and money. I spent hours, days, and weeks listening
