Most photos c. 1967-79 show Keith as being totally wasted. The rare pics of him are when he was completely straight. Hardly any exist at all.

Lately I've been digging deep into the American roots as well. Recent listenings include: 1. The Essential Otis Rush - The Classic Cobra Recordings 2. Little Milton Anthology 1953-61 3. Negro Prison and Blues Songs (Recorded live at the Mississippi and Lousiana State Penitentiaries by Alan Lomax) 4. Little Walter - Confessin' The Blues 5. Junior Wells - Hoodoo Man Bl

The Rolling Stones have the integrity that bands like the Who, the Eagles, Doobie Brothers, and countless others who bid us farewell on their "Farewell Tours" are sorely lacking. These phoney and false farewells always seem to have a comeback tour followed by a farewell tour, followed by a reunion tour, etc., etc., etc. If the Stones say this is the last time, then indeed it will

Once the doors were kicked opened by the Beatles, the rest came in and followed. There was no direct Beatles influence on the above Stones songs mentioned other than the fact that the Beatles blazed the trail, kicked in the door, and allowed the public to acknowledge this British wave in the first place. The Stones evolved into their own monster once they followed the leaders - The Beatles.

I just had full knee-replacement surgery 6 weeks ago caused by arthritic conditions. I understand the pain he must endure. Due to extensive ligament damage and 3 orthothoscopic surgeries caused by sports injuries during the mid-eightie's , my old knee was in pretty bad shape. Eventually, the arthritic conditions in my knee became nearly unbearable...to the point where the knee was l

Mick attempted to dress like Jimmy Cliff and other black reggae and r & b greats, but the neon color made him look like a clown instead. Still though, he looked even more ridiculous in the padded trousers and football jerseys he wore in '81. That was ridiculous.

Keith needs surgery on his fingers, thats the only way we'll ever hear him properly again, but I'm afraid that at this point even surgery is a lost cause.

I saw the 30 years of Rock and Roll Anniversary tour with Chuck Berry 20 years ago that featured Ronnie Wood, Bo Diddley, and a whole slew of other speciaL guests. I remember hoping that Keith would make a surprise appearance, but it never happened. Still, a great show...I can't believe it's been 20 years since then. Time flies.

The Beatles really were the trailblazers who busted down the doors of popular music for most all bands to follow... including the Rolling Stones, Kinks, Who, etc. If it wasn't for the Beatles, none of the above would exist as we currently understand them. Thank God for the Beatles!

I wasn't trying to ruffle any feathers of Springsteen fans here. I think T&A simplified my whole arguement for me in the above post. Thanks. And when I was a teenager, when "Born To Run" came out, I actually liked the single when it was initially released, but it saturated the airwaves and the vocals became grating on the ears. Then every new release began to sound similar

For The Record, I'm not necessarily a Bob Seger Fan either...far from it to be honest...but as a matter of fact I was only stating the the "boss" imitates Dylan and Mr. Seger. It seems to me that "The Boss" is attempting to mesh the two stlyes together, subconsciously attempting to sound like " the rock" of Seger, and at the same time mimicking the lyrical

Thanks Gazza, You are one of the rabid fans I was referring to. LOL. While Springsteen may like the Stones, it's highly unlikeley and very doubtful that the Stones have the same respect for "The Boss". They would spit right in his face and blow his ass right off the stage if it ever came to a showdown. But I guess I should correct myself for the sake of this arguement a

I don't like it at all...it all sounds the same to me. But perhaps I'm the wrong person to ask. I've never liked Bruce Springsteen. Does anybody really, really like him? Most real Stones fans and rock and roll fans in general that I know despise him, except for a few rabid Boss fans I've seen on this site. To me a Stones fan that is also a Springsteen fan is a con

I'd like to hear new Reggae versions of all their old hits. Time Is On My Side or Paint It Black with a reggae beat...? Well, maybe not. Maybe done in the style of a waltz or perhaps with a Samba beat? That may be more realistic.

They should re-record the entire Bridges To Babylon album...no wait a minute... They should trash the whole thing, then RE-WRITE all of the songs...and then re-record them...maybe two or three times at least to make sure there is something worthy enough to be re-released.

The Stockholm package was well worth the money...$1900 American dollars. This included all 3 shows (stadium, arena, and theater) plus 7 nights in one of Stockholms swankiest hotels. Excellent!!! I believe this was the least expensive of all the cities, and it was certainly worth every penny. And it included the best theater show I've ever seen at the Stockholm Cirkus...a show that was wo

Listen to PAGANINI He was known to play the violin in concert with such virtuosity that he left his audiences stunned, swearing that they were hearing 2 voilins being played at once instead of just one. This led to talk amongst his fans that he was indeed posessed by the Devil himself.

Don't forget the schmaltzy Vegas style back-up singers and horn section. I have to say, just as Chuck destroys many Stones classics with his honkey Tonk style piano playing on every song,it was the horn section that ruined Bitch last tour, they were way too loud and stole the steam from the guitars. Keith even dresses like a Las Vegas haidresser now...bright ugly colored clothing with lo

All around experience...? 40 LICKS...easily the best. Voodoo Lounge was great, especially the stage setting, but the trinity of venues (stadium/arena/theater) for 40 Licks made this superior. When else can you see a band in 3 different environments in the same city? Never. It's never been done before , and will never be repeated again by any band. I'm surprised U2 didn't st

I saw 2 shows at the Pantages - Tuesday and Friday. The setlists were almost completely different for both shows, therefore providing 2 extremely different concert experiences. The first night I had 5th row seats and the sound was excellent. The band is absolutely amazing. The second night I was up in the balcony on the far right, and while it was still excellent by any standards, the so
