I don't mean to split hairs here, but everyone is giving examples of opening LINES, which is different than opening VERSES. The first verse of HTW is tough to beat, but I'd have to vote for the first verse of Sympathy for the Devil.

Perhaps no one mentioned iPod because it's the King of the Hill. But as an MP3 music player, it's the best IMO.

In the true meaning of the word "comeback", it would be hard to argue against Steel Wheels.

To be fair, the only stations on Sirius that have ads are the news/talk stations. The music stations (at least the ones I listen to) are commercial free. I personally think that for 12.95 per month, Sirius is a good deal. There's a wide variety of stuff to listen to. (It was even better when they had the Stones channel). I can only hope that the merger will offer listeners even more and bett

They've covered a lot of good ones, but the list starts with the Chuck Berry songs plus "Down the Road Apiece".

By the way, can Gazza (or anyone) recommend stuff from her back catalogue. I only own "World Without Tears", which I really like.

Kiedis' quote seems rather general in nature. I think it's somewhat irresponsible to throw a blanket quote over a 45 year relationship.

The Best Buy in my town carries an extensive supply of Stones' discs. I never did an actual inventory, but I'd guess that they have EVERY officially released disc.

These types of posts never cease to amaze me. The Rolling Stones are a phenomenon the likes of which we may never see again. Do you folks ever stop to consider the odds that this band has overcome for 40 years to be touring in 2007. Keep the whole thing in perspective. The ABB tour is as good as it's gonna get. Frankly, I rather enjoy the Glasgow and Rio shows. And, as I've posted befor

I have to agree with the original poster re: Born To Run. This was definitely meant to be heard from the harmonica on Thunder Road to wall of sound end of Jungleland. Besides, at 46 minutes or so, it's not really that much of an investment of time.

Thanks for all the input. I probably should have been clearer. I have a nearly complete collection of studio releases. (Plus a ton of boots). I just wanted some clarification on the remastering process - i.e. when it was done and to what recordings. You've all been helpful.

Thanks. So any CD in my collection from the Rolling Stones Records era that DOESN'T have the Virgin logo is probably not the best quality?

There is a recent thread about the sound quality differences between CD and vinyl. I wanted to go in a slightly different direction and ask for some guidance. My Stones CD collection has been purchased through the years and I've noticed varying quality of the sound. For example, I have the SACD GYYYO which sounds tons better than my Some Girls and GHS, which were probably pressed in the 80s.

On recent tours, "Miss You" comes close, but I don't think anything they play now sounds like the recorded version. "Rain Fall Down" might be another.
