Got my copy too last week and I love it. This book is the result of thorough and devoted research, a collection beautifully put together by loving fans for loving fans. The many chapters include biographical notes about Charlie, reports about all his solo releases, personal anecdotes, stories about the origins and appeal of Boogie Woogie, the creation of the ABC&D quartet, album and c

QuoteVoodooLounge13 At Budokan!!!!!!!!!!!!! My Lord!!! That was FABULOUS!!! I want to own that one like yesterday!! That was a phenomenal live album!!! Thank-you for this post... I played that album again, first time in maybe 10 years, it is truly a great live album, with a great setlist even. Dylan's vocals are warm and deep, as if he had written the songs recently and the feelings be

Not everything is always meant to be understood... maybe Mick just made up some words that sounded Spanish? It's all part of the RnR spirit of the time. Here's an Italian superstar who ma

The promo video is the best one from the Black&Blue set... Mick plays the two roles perfectly, both sleazy and dirty to the right point, all in all somehow classy - pure 70s Jagger.

Quoteexilestones I know you are generously catering to the majority here on IORR which is very kind. It's great that you added a missing song. Any chance of getting this in blu-ray or any high quality that isn't DVD? DVD doesn't work for me. I don't use physical media. DVDs are obsolete. I think I remember you telling me you don't use physical media either. There

Quotestonesstein Treacle, what do you know about these? legit or just classy-boots? (sorry about picture size! Can't figure out how to make it smaller.) After embedding the image you can change the display size by replacing the initial "img" in your text e.g. with "img size=300" like I have just done in the quote above. Quotetreaclefingers I can tell from the cover photo it's a boot. There's no way they'd use that to promote the movie. The suspicion triggered by the amateurish cover is indeed confirmed, this dvd is far from official. It is a semi-official German release dated 2013. Soundtrack is English, German subtitles are optional. The picture and sound quality are below dvd standards and

QuoteBig Al A really good show. Wasn’t it filmed with only the one camera, though? Or, at least, with only a couple. The club gig was shot by a local professional team of 5 cameramen hired by New York based Second Coming Productions, one of which standing on the small stage with the Stones, left side. Second Coming was also in charge of distributing an edited selection via VHS tapes to the pres

Great Britain without the Queen - hard to imagine for many of us also living outside the UK. If we allow patriotism not to be exclusive, there's definitely a share of that feeling belonging to the UK and its history, I think that applies to many of us here. After all we've been there countless times, and it is the kingdom that bore our beloved Rolling Stones. What shaped them indire

Quotedonvis I just bought this the other day along with a DVD of the show that apparently was shown on the BBC. Incredible show with super wide stereo. It is missing several songs but I’m surprised no one has raved about it yet. Or maybe I missed it. Coincidently I was at that show and sat in the loge with all the celebrities! What exactly did you buy?

All the best Harvey, wishing you a fast return to full health! Your guitar work on the Black&Blue sessions was a precious contribution to the Stones in their mid-70s transition period, an exceptional musical gift to us fans. It is one of the reasons why that album turned out to be so unique. I really enjoyed meeting you after a Canned Heat concert in Germany back in 1991. gofundme

It looks like the wrong speed is not the result of the digitalization process. so the vhs is played back to slow? also where did you watch it in a theater?
