Quotetreaclefingers Very sad. My favourite version of Ruby Tuesday. I have to agree with that... and just think how many good or great covers of Ruby Tuesday exist out there. That cover, and (Lay Down) Candles In The Rain were such monster hits at the time... deservedly. I keep my couple of Melanie cds in with my "Peaceniks and Flower Children of the 60s & 70s" music.

A cover of an Elvis classic by an 18 yo who when 3 yrs old was abandoned by her abusive mother in a town north of Vladivostok, in winter. In an orphanage for two years she spoke very little, and that was with a bad speech impediment. Learning to sing was how she re-learned to speak. This is an Elvis cover quite out of the ordinary.

Condolences. I'm not liking these still young-ish deaths in the community. But, whatever one's age when it happens, I contend that Stones music adds at least a year or two to a fan's life. How could it not? Which means my own muleheaded nephews down in North Carolina won't be getting that bonus. My best efforts couldn't swing them on board with the Stones and other gre

QuoteJadedFaded Saw John Fogerty tonight. He is so happy about owning his songs again and he had a blast playing them. Unfortunately for me, the sound was awful. I don’t know if the acoustics in the venue were bad or whoever did the sound mixing was totally inept. The guitars were mushy. The harmonica sounded out of tune. I couldn’t understand the words he was singing—and I know the lyrics to his

"Goodbye, Jimmy Reed" is the consensus most fun song on Bob Dylan's 2020 Rough & Rowdy Ways, in that it rocks & rolls the most. Live: He plays it (nearly or?) every show this tour, lately as the next-to-last song, #16 or #17. In 1958 wife and husband Mary Lee Reed and Jimmy wrote, and Jimmy recorded for Vee-Jay Records, "Down In Virginia," blues tha

When I saw Joan last year she sang covers by Muddy Waters, Hip Shake by Slim Harpo (which I first learned existed from EOMS), four Dylan covers, and her own stuff. I really wanted to hear Right Hand Man, her song she's described as her attempt at a raucous rocker, raunchy in a Stones style but from a female POV

QuoteJadedFaded November 18: John Fogerty I had never seen Fogerty until August of this year. He's still got a strong voice, has an engaging stage presence, puts on a remarkably energetic show for someone his age, and plays a setlist loaded with the CCR songs we want to hear (the ownership of which he got back only this year). I was very impressed and happy with the concert.

Quoteroryfaninva Thats how its done... Faces vids all make me a little bit sad at what a great band we lost. Ronnie fits perfectly as a Stone, has from the start. But... the Faces in their heyday! I saw them just once, in 1973, and feel very fortunate to have.

And while I've seen criticism of him on IORR, as overdoing it, I appreciate Chris Robinson's "all
