Most recently saw Cowboy Junkies, Paul McCartney, and St. Paul and the Broken Bones. A Sarah Shook concert was postponed the day of the show when a band member caught covid -- that might sound familiar around here. Next shows I have tix for are: 28.06.2022 - Garbage 31.07.2022 - Chvrches 19.08.2022 - Snail Mail 28.09.2022 - Wilderado Other opportunities will pop up. C

In Nashville it was openly beside the drums rather than behind them. He spoke with Steve, and waved his smoke away from his face. It was their 4th (full) show without Charlie, right after Keith sang a heartfelt Slipping Away, at that same point: at the end of his backstage Miss You break. We had the debate then what it was. Many say weed. I still go with a cigarette.

I haven't been to a SIXTY show but judging just from Irix's pics the catwalk looks to me to be pretty much the same height as No Filter's. Well higher than your head... unless you're an NBA center. Being right on the No Filter catwalk rails was not the place to be if you wanted to see the opposite side of the stage too. You needed to be -- varied with your height of course

QuoteGreen Lady ...why (apart from cost) they thought it was a good idea to replace the simple and effective No Filter screens I have no idea. I was amazed at how great the giant No Filter LED towers were. After decades of big acts futzing around, experimenting with how to best project concerts onto screens in huge stadiums, here we go... somebody's finally perfected the art. The No Filter

Quotecorvonero QuoteOriongalaxy Does anyone know support band for Milan? I must have missed the announcement.. Ghost Hounds Is this really confirmed? Has Thomas Tull really taken the Milan gig too for himself? If so... Wow. What a shameless operation the Stones organization has become with its opening acts. The Ghost Hounds appear to almost never play gigs they headline themselves. All

QuoteBFR The two shows I saw last year that the Hounds opened were enough. Generic is the best description for them. They're not awful, but they remind me of a cover band. Speaking of, between the two U.S. legs, Gho$t Hound$ recorded a cover of Thunder Road. (And I looove Thunder Road. Sing every line of it along with Bruce every show of his I get to.) Billionaire Thomas Tull hired S

QuoteHairball ...I saw them at one of the L.A. shows as openers, and while the singer had some visual presence and on-stage charisma, the music itself was as bland as can be. Not completely horrible, but generic and bland...in fact musically speaking there's absolutely nothing about their set I can even remember. Frontman Tre Nation has a pretty good voice, is very personable, works har

Above I said I loved both the DC and Nashville shows. I should clarify, I loved the Stones' shows. About Gho$t Hound$' performances, of which two have been imposed on me, I will say that musically they're competent players. They don't embarrass themselves onstage. (Why would a billionaire hire hacks?) Their original songs, though, I find unexceptional. Nothing sticks wi

The Cowboy Junkies' cover fellow Canadian Neil Young's Helpless ...which is a good expenditure of six precious minutes of a human being's too-limited life. Four nights ago in Hopewell, Virginia they did Neil's Don't Let It Bring You down and a Gordon Lightfoot cover. Margot Timmins told us it was some kinda of law for Canadian acts, to cover each other. We had a brief, but nice conversation, but I never felt like "publishing" it. Musically think Iggy & the Stooges with a very talented lady singer named Amy Taylor. I've seen hundreds of concerts so I'm fairly jaded at this point but this band blew me away. Goddam. I hadn't read any of the 49 pages of anticipation and build-up on this thread. So I just picked up my cds, brought em home, and played thru em (while enjoying a 16 oz double IPA) with no particular expectations. And... goddam. This feels like some kinda prize for just living thru a long pandemic. Play This Record LOUD and have yourself a party!

I told her as much after a show in November.
