Quotedkwalika I just realized that backstreets.com is now dead. Where can we find a good bootleg to get us fired up for Wrigley Field? Backstreets per se is no more but the fan forum, BTX, which was the only thing I used on it anyway, is alive and well. (I say "well," but it does have a higher quotient of nasty bungholes on it than iorr does. I attribute it to the Jersey thing.) It ha

This is one of the things I like about this forum. It often reminds me of other people I want to see. Never seen Buddy Guy (I saw few concerts by anybody in "my middle decades"), and this thread popping up reminded me, I'd intended to check back on if Buddy was adding shows near me. Answer: Yep, he did. Just got back -- from the box office of a Richmond theater formerly calle

In the what's-your-next-concert? thread I just posted my upcoming list... preceded by this report on a recent one. This part more properly belongs here, though, so I'm pasting it in: Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes were awesome. We were their last stop on a tour before they headed home. It was a perfect way to enjoy his raucous show: from a bar seat only 25 feet away. John

QuoteSilver Dagger A few videos from last night's Hyde Park show. ... Thanks! Since I bought my first Springsteen album in 1975 -- sadly they released it only after he'd played Norfolk that year, so I hadn't caught on yet and missed him -- Thunder Road has always been my favorite Springsteen song. But to those for whom BITUSA was your coming-of-age Springsteen album

Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes were awesome. We were their last stop on a tour before they headed home. It was a perfect way to enjoy his raucous show: from a bar seat only 25 feet away. Johnny reminded us how he lived in Richmond for awhile in the early 1970s, back when here and back home were the only places that the Jersey shore rockers, i.e. him, Springsteen, and SVZ, could draw crowds

Quotecrholmstrom Born in the USA is far from my favorite Bruce record. The on that grates on my nerves is Bobby Jean. Its over-earnest sentimentality does spill over into sappiness, but I've always been able to accept it. It's not one of his songs that outright annoys me. I've also found that song more interesting historically in the past few months, when I finally learned abo

QuoteElmo Lewis IMHO, Working On The Highway is one of his worst songs (and, yes, there are some other bad ones, too). I agree the song's a stinker, but that lyric's a gem. I've wondered before if the song got included on the album only because they couldn't bear to not put out one of his greatest lines. A Worst of Springsteen song list would be long, partly because he

Good song, Downbound Train. Trains do make great fodder for rock songs. Mystery Train, Silver Train, Burnin' Train, many others. Springsteen's certainly broken out plenty of good stuff, one song at a time, that he could easily freshen up 2023's U.S. Leg 2 with when he comes back. If he's inclined to. There's no way to read his mind and know what's coming,

So concert tickets' soaring prices of just the past few years are being felt by more than just us, the bulging bank accounts of some music superstars, Ticketmonarch/LiveNation's wealth and industry dominance... and I'm sure performers down the pecking order have to be benefitting at least some as well, from the wave of money we're pouring into live music. The price run-up i

Sep 29 in Nats Park, DC, now thanks to the reschedule will be the one time out of my lifetime 7 Bruce shows that I will finally be in the pit ('course, shows 1-4 there was no pit). But I sure know what I'm not doing. And that's be close to the rail.

I've seen Neil as much as the Stones (20+ times) over the years going back to the late 70s in all sorts of guises. I've seen some great solo shows but solo acoustic shows these days kind of put me to sleep. Everyone has their own Neil definitely. In my retirement

After my ages 14-17 initial fascination with the Stones, which was the HT Women single, Through The Past Darkly, Sticky Fingers, Hot Rocks, and Exile On Main Street, I heard nothing on radio play that interested me in any of GHS, IORR, or Black and Blue. I just played the Stones albums I had. Until 1978, of course. I loved all three of Some Girls, Emotional Rescue, and Tattoo You. For me, the

Today Springsteen's DC Nationals Park Monday Aug. 28 show got postponed a month, to Friday September 29. No word on why. Unless there are more changes this will make DC the last show of the Eastern half of the U.S. stadium leg. Then there's a break until Nov 3, when Canada gets 8 concerts in enclosed stadiums or arenas. Followed by 5 shows on the U.S west coast and west, which will
