Aftermath & In Another Land for sure, but have you actually played Monkey Grip or Stone Alone? Not as dire as a Ringo Starr solo album but not far short.

Definitely a reworking in part of Lonely At The Top. Thankfully a lot harder but I have to say I was hoping for something a little fresher. Beats the hell out of Don't Stop though.

Talking of shuffling I saw Dylan last year in London and he was shuffling about like a stereotype pensioner + his bewildered expressions did make me think of the dreaded Alzheimers. Hard to believe the same man recently wrote such a sharp book & continues to write powerful songs. Mick & the boys resembled teenagers at the pc though in comparison (well perhaps not Charlie).

Mac instead of Chuck for sure but personally I think Bernard & Lisa & definitely Bobby add a real dimension for certain numbers. The rough b-stage approach to a whole gig would probably drag the sound back to '81-'82. Why not have a more even split with just the 5 guys (& possibly Bobby) for half the gig and bring on the rest for the more sophisticated numbers. For instance

Ah, I see, pardon my stupidity. Still sounds uninspiring though.

Unless the tour is awaiting a proper name derived from the album or the Stones have gone all minimalist or decostructivist on us this has to be the most pathetic tour name known to man.

"As we all know Keith underwent a series of implants in the early to mid 90's" What exactly is the source of this knowledge that we all seem completely unaware of except you Maverick?

Gazza, "Creative ruin" implies that they have created work that is disatrous. This is not the case, they just haven't created any new work (barring the 4 OK tracks on 40 Licks) for 8 years. Criticising them for a lack of output is fair enough but that's better than putting out shite.

Why not put in CYHMK & Slave AND Time Waits For No One AND Sway AND Winter: make room for them by dropping Miss You, Tumbling Dice & Honky Tonk Women!

Woolley has also done a lot of research into Brian's death. He even hired a private investigator to track down Janet Lawson who the cops told him was "probably dead". He seems to have tried to pool (geddit?) all the known sources who were present & "amalgamated all the disparate threads, as nobody ever agreed with each other on what happened".

Give the film a chance, they haven't even finished editing it yet! The direcor is a talented and well respected producer of 30 or so movies. He has been trying to realise this project for over ten years so it's not just some throwaway piece of exploitation. Wooley's favourite movie is 'Performance' and he has said that this and 'The Servant' are the main influen

The Stones did 'Rocky Road To Dublin' with the Chieftans as well as Mick doing 'Molly Malloy'solo so another one off the list.

It's not out until the autumn according to Mojo. I wonder why Woolley changed the name from 'The Wild And Wycked World Of Brian Jones'. He probably thought the name Brian Jones wouldn't mean anything to most people under 25. Thanks for the info RvO.

I think they should have The Verve's 'Bittersweet Symphony' as an intro when the lights go down then burst onto the stage doing 'The Last Time'. This would of course lead every media hack in the world to proclaim it was definitely the last tour then they could open the 2008 World Tour with 'Fool To Cry'.

Hey Esky, thanks but I'm not sure what you mean. I can make dvd's ok but I don't have the audio of the show. If Menace has this then the idea is that I combine it with my silent footage then create a new dvd with s+v. OR did you mean you can help me out with a source who has a dvd with sound & vision already? This would save a lot of hassle... Tseverin

Thanks Menace, that's useful. The stuff I have is shot from the floor so it must be the evening show which is good news as you say the recording is VG+. I have a suggestion: if you can send me a cdr of the evening show then I will try and marry it up with the images and then send you a dvd of the result. If it doesn't work out I'll just send the silent footage. Whaddyasay?

I don't know what the motivation was but what a fantastic track! In my all time Stones top 10, well definitely 15. People go on about the Beatles innovations (or should I say George Martin's) but rarely ever mention that this song broke the mould. As far as I'm aware there were no pop/rock studio jams until Going Home or any album tracks over about 5 minutes long. Months later Love

Menace, do you know if the silent colour film from the 25th is from the early or the late show? I have a pretty good quality colour copy of this and would like to try and synch it up with the correct audio on my pc (then burn onto dvd). It's about 20 mins long.

"it is more like a typical, short «US» rock album where you get two full A/B single tracks stuck in there. So taking away the single, what is left... " There is no (UK) single or b-side on Beggars Banquet.
