My "Depressed newbie" was just a funny way of saying Oh darn and that's life for getting into them so late in the game and to let everyone one who has experienced them live to be thankful. No biggie

QuoteNoCode0680 I don't get it. Is the point that your 2 months of Stones binge listening makes you more worthy of a Stones ticket than your sister who has been a fan since '81? I'm sure she'll enjoy the show just fine, and so will you, if you buy a ticket. I can see where that comment by me may have sounded disrespectful or unrealistic. That's not how it was intended

All valid points. If they h ad come to Tampa, about 90 minutes away or Ft Myers, about 45 minutes, would have tried harder for sure. But Orlando was 2 1/2 hers so that 5 hr drive all together. Plus getting of work on short notice would have been difficult. I made the point about never seeing them because I'm assuming at their age this is it. My brother got luck and got to see them for a few

Hello everyone. I wanted to share my story really quick, if anyone cares. My sister is going to see the Stones in Pittsburgh on the 20th, now that she moved back up to West Virginia. I live in Florida and didn't start getting heavy into the Stones until after tickets went on sale for the Orlando show, and that still 2 1/2 hrs away from me so I missed it this past Friday. Anyway, I'm hap

lol Thanks for the input guys. I also did this for Zeppelin and I tell ya, when you play the songs in that order and imagine it's a real concept album, every song takes on a new life within the context. Not sure who on here knows the Zep tracks well enough, but here was my list for them about a month ago that I posted on their forum. Bron-Yr-Aur (Musical Intro) Over the

As we know the Stones never recorded a concept album, although EOMS has a vibe of a band on stage in a bar, jamming out. Concept albums aren't always about a story, but sort of a feel. Still, I thought it would be cool to create a sort of Stones concept album or playlist. The story is the oldest one, which is love, but also the ups and downs and various emotions we all experience in those ve

There are a certainly tacks on SF that fit the feel of EOMS. That's probably why SF is in one sense, their best, because it sort of nail in one album everything that they were doing so well, both before SF with BB and LIB and after with EOMS.

I actually probably love both bands equally. I know that may be a sin as a member here. I'm also a member of the Zep forum. The thing is they're are both so great for different reasons, it's really silly to have to try and pick who is better. Fact is, both are based on whichever mood you're in. I was raised on The Beatles because of my mom, and my dad liked The Who and The Sto

I agree about the whole being greater than the sum of it's parts. I know that's a cliche, but cliches are cliches for a reason. EOMS fits this cliche perfectly, as does The Beatles White Album. Some of the songs on The White Album I will never seek out individually. Put I let them play all the way through in the context of the album. EOMS is similar in that regard. I think Zeppelin'

Okay, I'm back and I know this is quick and may seem and I'll be called flaky and flip floppy but I just listened to in again and I finally got it. The first time I played it, my mindset was going track for track and attempting to let each song stand on it's own. This time I played it without looking at the names of the songs. I realized that this is a Soul album. I don't mean

Thanks guys. I plan on playing it some more both as backdrop and with headphones. I wont "Try" to like it because that's not how you ever really like an album. If it slowly grows on me more that's cool. That's how Zeppelin's Physical Graffiti worked for me. I always liked a few tracks but felt as a whole it was a tad overrated. I see differently now. Hopefully Exile

Quotestanlove To me Exile is the most solid piece of music in the history of rock. 18 solid songs. Every song on there is at least good. I will take that as an album over an 11 song album where 3 songs are great, 6 are good, and 3 are ok which is what the other great Stones albums are to me. When I can put on an album to clear the house and listen to 18 at least good songs in a row I am happy.

Having just recently gotten heavy into the Stones, beyond just Hot Rocks and Rewind, I was actually moved to purchase Beggars, Bleed, Sticky and Some Girls, just off of iTunes samples. The samples of Exile didn't to the trick so I gave it a fair shake on Google play. As long as I have my subscription to Google play I'll have Exile on my antroid and computer for streaming, but I won'

Funny seeing this cause I just happened to sign up to Google Play yesterday and was having my huge iTunes library streaming through it for when I use my android over my iPhone or iPod. I'm only using the free service for my own music but saw on the 30 day trial they gave me the deluxe Sticky too. It gives you the deluxe sets of most the artists if you choose the albums.

There is a difference between being creative and original. Often times, the original idea is very basic and needs added creativity. Zeppelin were highly creative.

Quotestanlove QuoteGasLightStreet It's stupid. The only reason there is any comparison is because they both tend to tour about the same time. It's as stupid as any comparison. U2 makes a lot of money touring. So do the Stones. U2 is still younger in their career and making new LPs, the Stones are older and not making new LPs. WOO HOO. WHATEVER. OF course they are going to
