Quotesaltoftheearth Well, the lyrics are ambiguous, but it was a great opening song back on the 1981 & 1982 tours (I wish they'd be so adventurous nowadays), and it fit perfectly to the instrumental ouverture 'The Stripper'. The "instrumental ouverture" in 1981/82 was Duke Ellington´s "Take The A-Train". The "instrumental ouverture" The Stripper

Quotedesertblues68 I love the Leeds '82 version, Keith's guitar intro is out of this world And his solo is one of his best, too.

QuoteDandelionPowderman I wholeheartedly agree! Gene Barge, not Ernie, though. Ernie played in Hampton, Gene in Leeds.

I simply love the sound of his white Silhouette during the Steel Wheels/Urban Jungle tour. As far as I remember, he used a Fender twin for rhythm sound and a 50 watt Marshall head with an H/H power amplifier for his dirty lead sound.

I like the studio Version of ME.And I simlpy love the live Versions from Atlantic City 89 and Tokyo 90. The Stones at their very best, especially the outro with the funky horn section.

QuoteBlueranger QuotePhil Good Alas, I live in Germany and that means that I can't hear it as well as we can't hear or see here so many other vids. It's all blocked here by GEMA. It's a real shame. Well, I don't want to say more about these people. Listen to it on Spotify. It's all there. Try this!

Maybe someone asked this before and got an answer already, but I like the "Take The A-Train"-Intro on Leeds very much. Does anybody know from which Duke Ellington record it is taken from?

For all those who do not know the Music of Mike Zito (and do not know Royal Southern Brotherhood as well), his new Album reminds me of the solo records of John Fogerty as well as Bob Seger (his 70ies records), John Cougar Mellencamp and early Bruce Springsteen.

For me Mike Zito & The Wheel are one of the best bands ever. And their newest record is as good as the lat one "Gone To Texas". Zito is one of my all time favorite singers and guitar players, and he is such a great songwriter ans storyteller as well. Give this record a listen and whenever you have the chance to see them live, do not hesitate. In the meantime enjoy the CD/DVD set &

For me, every tour from 1973 to 1990 was special, because every tour was different from the one before. In 1995 I saw the last show that really thrilled me for a long time, although all the shows a I saw after 1995 were good, but not spectacular. And then Zürich 2014 totally blew my mind.

Quotekowalski I would rank the Stones live album like this (not including the Eagle Rock/bootleg releases) : 1) Get Yer Ya-Ya's out! - The perfect "live" album 2) Sweet Summer Sun - Have the Stones been so focused on their playing since GYYYO? 3) Sticky Fingers Live (great playing, real good choice for the track listing - when are they going to release this properly??) 4) No

Quotetornnfrayed Just out of curiosity I watched some of the Stones 1990 Tokyo concert on youtube. This was 25 years ago after all and maybe, I thought, they were not as bad as I remembered them then. But after watching some of this show, I must say they were worse than I had remembered. Just for the heck of it I then watched some 72 footage from MSG. No comparison. The Stones were a truly g

A few days before xmas 1990 I bought the Swinging Pig version of the Atlantic City 1989 3 LP set. The concert from December 19 became immediately one of my all time favorite recorded Rolling Stones concerts. For a long time I thought Atlantic City 89 cannot be topped or another concert can even get close in quality. A couple of years ago I downloaded the mp3-version of the Tokyo Dome 1990 conce

Quotejpasc95 by the way, what is your definition of a good solo ? to me a good solo is able to mix feeling and technique. that's why I think Mick Taylor is one of the best lead guitarists Feeling, phrasing, expression, attitude, tone and individuality are far more important than technique.
