Quoteshortfatfanny Meanwhile the BTB/No Security tour seems to be the only one since 1969 without any stuff from the vaults, either audio or footage. I hope they will close that gap. What about the Bridges To Babylon Live In Concert DVD? And there is no from the vault Release from the 1976 Tour.

QuoteGasLightStreet QuoteHMS QuoteHonkeyTonkFlash The songs where you can compare Darryl's bass playing with the swinging stuff Bill Wyman used to play makes me sad. The example I always think of is Neighbours. On Live Licks it just plods along, flat and lifeless. In 1981-82 it both rocked and swung, and Wyman had much to do with that. I´ve always enjoyed the Live-Licks-version very much

"The sum total of his collaborations in more than 50 years as an active musician includes names such as David Gilmour, Sea Level, Eric Clapton, George Harrison, John Mayer, The Black Crowes, Gov’t Mule, Miranda Lambert and Widespread Panic." It´s so ridiculous that there are IORR members who critisize his playing. The only excuse is that they are 1. deaf 2. ignorant 3. non musician

QuoteMonsoon Ragoon I hope they don't play the same places as always like Munich. There are many regions even in Germany and UK where they haven't been since 1998/99/2003 (or never). Munich would be great. At least for me. And there wasn´t a show in southern Germany in 2014. Only German shows were Berlin and Düsseldorf. Si I had to drive to Zürich, which is a great city and it was one

QuoteHonkeyTonkFlash It's nice to see some love here for the studio version. I've always felt it was overlooked. However, MR is perhaps the ONE song that never fails to become a Magnum Opus in concert. I don't think I ever heard a live version that I didn't like. True, some are better than others, but I've never heard a really bad live version. Definitely never heard

Quotelatebloomer Quotewith sssoul My ring tone is this entire number. Gorgeous! Keith sings it so pretty "Sit on my shoulder like a little bird" The story goes that he wrote it in a brothel where he'd gone to spend a few days just to get away :E Yes, he wrote about it in Life. I think he said he went there for...inspiration? Whatever, doesn't matter, it's o

QuoteStonesfan2146 If you listen careful then you will notice that a lot of the great groove on Sympathy was made of the famous Woh-Wooh. Nowadays the Wohwooh is only present at the very end of the song and during Keith solos. That makes the song sound "empty" at some times. I hope they will work on the song for the next tour. I will forgive them, because I simply like the live versions

Enjoy the song or a specific Version of a song or not. Enjoy music in general and do not Analyse Music too much. Groove is something you feel (or not). You can´t HEAR it. It´s got nothing to do if there is a drum loop or not.

Quoteonestep Even though I heard some on Spotify, I finally opened my totally stripped collection.... I think this is the best live document that has been released since Ive been an adult. It's The Rolling Stones... I think the CD takes you through what being at a Stones concert IS. They gave us I GO WILD, a great GIMMIE SHELTER..a few rare ones...and the track listing is commercially aw

QuoteHairball QuoteHMS The Stones arent the type of group to have a guitar-player step into the spotlight and do a three-minute-plus solo, they arent Deep Purple. They are a unit. Everybody contributes to their sound, it´s not about soloing (did Charlie ever a drum-solo? No.). With Ronnie they found back to the ancient art of weaving, interplay is more important than starring. It´s the riffs and

He´s one of the best song writers and performers. At least with the Kinks. Saw them live several times from 1977 to 1993. Each gig is one to remember. And each gig was really stripped down concerning their eqipment. Just a few amps and guitars. But they rocked and they rolled. And they entertained with their personality and their charisma.

First I was a bit confused about the two slide solos on Black Limousine, because on the version from the Like A Rolling Stones-EP there is a Keith solo first and the second guitar solo is a slide solo by Ronnie. Can I really hear Keith´solo in the background during Micks´s Harp solo, or is this just my imagination? Definetely the second slide solo is missing on the EP Version and ronnie´s first

Keith is on fire, mick is as soulful as ever and ronnie really stands out, esp when he plays that thunderbird. incredible show I don´t know if Ronnie can play a Thunderbird as well, but the guitar he is playing is a Gibson Firebird ;-)

Better late than never: Just got Bonnie´s new record. Great songs, great voice, great guitar, great band, great production. Very warm and thick sounding! That´s how a new Rolling Stones record should sound (musical wise and sound wise).

QuoteThe Worst. More classics were released in the few years between 1970 and 1973 than ever before or since. The Rolling Stones, The Who, David Bowie, Neil Young, Pink Floyd, Jethro Tull, Black Sabbath and Deep Purple (to name a few) – all released their greatest albums in those years. Hard to compete with this list IMO: Sticky Fingers Exile on Main Street Who´s Next Quadrophenia Dark Si

QuoteMathijs Quoteroryfaninva Per Donal Gallagher, Rory went to Rotterdam and jammed for a couple days. Ive seen Bill Wyman confirm it in print so it definitely happened. Beyond question. Not the right guy for the job, at any rate. But all sessions from the Doelen in late January and early February 1975 are available on tape, with the best 6 hours or so released on CD. As far as I know, the first telecaster that Keith owed is the famous Macawber, a gift from Gram Parsosns in the summer of 1971. He did not play a telecaster when the Sones played HTW in several TV Shows in 1969, nor did he at the Hyde Park Show and the US Tour 1969. So I think it is a Gibson. Kewith once also said that he uses Telecasters on GYYO, which is not true also. Some memories are real

I definitely hate "Last Christmas" I love the Christmas recordings by the Brian Setzer Orchestra and Aretha Franklin. In 1980 there was a funny Christmas recording by an english punk band called the Yobs (which was a pseudonym for the Boys). And I loike "Father Christmas" by the Kinks.
