QuoteTops QuoteHMS It is fast and it has punch, but to me it sounds a bit slick. And look at those awful costumes they wear! Agree Great energy but sooo slick. Compare it to the 72 versions. And the awful clothes. Their worst ever. But you have to remember it was the late 80's. Are we talking about the Music? Or are we talking about clothes, shoes or haircuts? Anyway, this is

No amp (and speaker) will sound crunchy and fat when you turn the volume low enough not to disturb your neighbors. And you won´t get the right rocking feeling when playing quietly either. So all I can suggest is to play with earphones. Or you play an acoutsic guitar. That can rock, too.

I saw the band before and after 1990. 1982 was great, 1990 was great, too, but different. The times they are a-chanching, you know.Yes, they sounded less guitar oriented, but I like the brass section as well as the backup singers.Yes, Flashpoints sounds a bit flat, but Atlantic City (and other bootlegs) sound superb. And I think Atlantic City is definitely one of the all time Highlights of the who

Maybe I´m just confused, but if I got it right; Memory Motel was recorded late March/early April 1975 in Munich and the rehearsels for the US tour in Montauk took place in late April/May 1975.

All Down The Line is one of my all time faves. To me it stands with JJF, HTW, BS and SMU. My favourite live Version is from the "Like A Rolling Stone" EP from 1995. Daryl really pushes the band and the song during the finish.

QuoteTitle5Take1 I really like Brown Sugar but have nonetheless thought it a tad overrated but absolutely love Honky Tonk Women. I put them together naturally, though, because after I tune my guitar to open-G I inevitably play those a lot because they're both in Open-G. And then I play Start Me Up. So I always play those three together. It´s exactly the same with me. But mostly I start wit

QuoteTurner68 QuoteRockingLonestar I think the discussion about Chuck ruining the keyboard parts and sound is really ridiculous. First of all because most of the other players you are talking about are dead. And you do not hear that much of Mac on the recordings from 1978/81. Secondly because the Stones want Chuck as keyboard player because he is competent and a team player. That´s what all oth

For me Brüssel 1973 always was the outstanding Version. Now I think Roundhouse 1971 comes very close. I think this one worked better from 69 to 75. The Version from 1989 on have not enough guitars interplay. Got better from 2012 on, especially 2015!

QuoteSuperC For starters, the intro and riffing on CYHMK sounds as if there are 3 guitars, 2 playing the intro. If you listen to the Toronto Club show CHYMK from a few years back, for instance, there is distinctly one guitar (Keith, of course), playing the into. To me it sounds like tweo guitars: Keith and Ronnie ;-)

QuoteTestify I always respected and appreciated Mick Taylor also after leaving the Stones, but this year this forum has managed to make me hate. Possible that in any discussion where Taylor has nothing to do, you have to talk about him missing (stones) for 40 years? I am beginning to really hate him! It´s so easy living in the past. Because it is definitely gone ;-)

IMHO this recording is absolutely fantastic concerning the music and I like the sound, too (loud guitars that sound like played and recorded in 2015 and not 1969 or 1972). The lats time I was flashed by a Stones live recording like that, was when I first heard the Atlantic City 1989 bootleg in 1990! Especially Ronnie is absolutely on fire.

Also waiting for Columbus of little feat has got a lot of overdubs and it is brilliant Waiting For Columbus is one of my all time faves since it was released, way back in 1978. And it will ever be.
