QuoteJah Paul This was quite the "new" show in '89. In addition to the 13 you highlighted, Ruby Tuesday hadn't been played since '67 (never in the US)...Before They Make Me Run, first time played by the Stones...Paint It Black first time since '67...also, Sympathy, Gimme Shelter and It's Only Rock n Roll were "fresh" as they hadn't been played

QuoteEleanor Rigby The reason they dont perform fast-paced songs is that they all wouldnt keep up! Keith would make a mess of this today.. Sounds pretty good to me...

I only went to Hyde Park (my first and probably only Stones gig), highlights at that show for me were Beast of Burden, ADTL and Bitch. Oh, and a pretty killer Gimme Shelter.

Quotejaggerrich Hi, many thanks. Only one person gave the time they started queuing, which was 7am. To get a good view is it vital to start queuing that early? I'm driving from Birmingham so I'm already going to have to start out early. 9am would be better, but I'd hate to get there to find I'm too far back. If it has to be 7am, then so be it. Many thanks! It was me who arri

I'm still in London so can't post any pictures yet. Forgive any spelling, I can only post on my phone. I had Tier 3 and was in the front row with a great view of the whole band. - I had a fast track band, but it didn't make any difference. The only benefit was a slightly shorter queue, but at the same time there was only one line. - I arrived at the park around 7 and that wi

QuoteMoreFastNumbers QuoteBastion I was at in the very front row of Tier 3 and somebody stole some bloke's hat. Don't think I've ever seen someone so angry. And how early did you go to the entrance to get in to the front?? Did you have the wristband with this fast track entry stuff? Thanks for the info I had the fast track entry but it didn't really make a difference.

QuoteWild Slivovitz I've read somewhere that the curfew @ Hide Park starts @ 22:30, therefore a two-hour set should be expectable. Moreover, according to the newspapers last year Springsteen's microphones have been silenced only after the 22:30 curfew had been exceeded by half an hour. I'm pretty sure they cut him off at 22:40.

QuoteBowieStone So it'll be a complete warhorses setlist with one 'obscure' (probably CYHMK or ER) to 'please' us die hards. To be honest, I really don't know what to expect anymore. What's up with the different opening times as well? Is it 12:00? 14:00?

I still hope we get a normal show... Yep, so one has to conclude that the Stones are happy with their 90 minute spot. Why wouldn't they...they probably only got AEG to cough up the $8
