No one is saying Rod can't sing. I just find Rod's current direction a contradiction with what put this cat on the map. Yes, I have seen his setlists and there are some good tunes in there, but I would need a barf bag at a concert to take in some of that stuff. I am not going to the defense of the Rolling Stones either for the same hits they play ad nauseum at every show for the tourist

An amazing match. Who would have thought it possible to come back from 0-3 in the second half. Dudek was the man.

Keith never made any money covering "Nearness of You" and he isn't out on tour doing a Hoagy's hits deal either. Do I think Keith should shit can the slow ballads with his mini set? Absolutely, but if the majority of Rod's audience is there to see his incredibly lame post Faces solo material, what more can I say? These people deserve each other I guess. Who ever thought R

While I would like to have him and the band back in the USA, I am happy the Rhythm Kings are going back out on the road. Saw them once in Chicago and it was a fun gig. They are a very good band with many talented players, and one doesn't need to break the bank to see them.

I saw the Stones perform One Hit on the Steel Wheels tour at the first Alpine Valley show. I thought it was worked very well, and sounded great live. IMHO One Hit would be a welcome addition to a Stones setlist that sadly has contained way too many of the usual suspects on recent tours. Bring One Hit back.

How about Amanda Jones or Flight 505? A fantastic rocking start that few would expect.

I just can't bear to go see Rod these days. I am happy that he is making money, but really this cat lost his rock and roll shoes so long ago that all we have is his glorious past with the Faces to smikle about. Now a Faces reunion tour I would jump on in a second! We know the rest of the band would be hip to this, but Rod just doesn't get it. Yes, Wyman on bass with the Faces is a fanta

I simply hated that song when it was released and I still find it nauseating. Cutesy rock along the same lines as Elton John. No guts

Yes, I don't buy this strong ticket sales demand BS. The Stones machine is trying to make it look like tickets are flying. I think otherwise, and that there will be plenty of seats around once the tour starts. Something about this current ticket sale that is completely different than anything we have ever seen. A strange vibe to it I can't quite figure out. Maybe the Stones have finally

I think this is hyped up BS at this time, but closer to the start of the tour maybe things will loosen up.

Bad news if it is true. If Ronnie goes back on the sauce before the tour I think we should be concerned about well this band will play. I thought he sounded fine at the PC. Let's try and stay positive.

I live in the Chicago area and have not bought tickets yet. I do plan on going to a show here, but I think I can walk up and get one at showtime, unless I see something good in the meantime that comes up. In sure won't pay $450 though. The new Soldier Field is indeed taller, but the seats are closer to the middle of the field than before. I believe that the sound will be improved this time a

Keith adding Run Rudolph Run to his mini set would really make it for me. Would slay me dead on the spot that one. Keith could also do Steet Little 16 as a one of his mid set numbers. Mick could sneak out and help. Could we get Keith and Mick to share a mic again please?

Whoa wait a minute here! The Faces were playing big theaters and arenas before they broke up. Isaw them 6 times and the smallest venue I saw them play in was the Auditorium Theater in Chicago and that holds at least 3,500-4,500. The played a sold out International Amphitheater as well in Chicago in support of the Nod is as Good as Wink album and rocked the house. That place holding at least 12,0

Noticeably absent from recent tours are Chuck Berry songs that made Stones concerts soar back in the old days. Apart from the Keith backed Johnnie Johnson litigation against Chuck Berry why else would the band drop the Berry catalogue from setlists of recent tours. Yes, I know they played Little Queenie at the b stage of some gigs at the Bridges Tour, but otherwise, thats it. I really miss those

Booth's work on the Stones remains the finest I have ever read. As stated in an earlier response to the post, Booth makes the readers feel like they right in there. I think his writing style is warm and personal and for those fans that haven't read his books on the the Stones and Keith these works should be pursued. You won't be disappointed. The potential of a new book from Boo

Sorry Debra there are many people who are not big Chuck fans within the context of his playing in the Rolling Stones. I accept that you really like his work with the band, but there are many of us who would be happy to see him go. I happen to like their music better without him. In the end you win, because of course he won't be canned. I guess the simple solution is to just turn him down in

Yes bassaleman you said it right. As for a real piano, they haven't brought one along since Stew died have they? Good idea, anyone in the band listening?

The tapes from the Philly 78 shows don't sound bad at all to me. The Stones have clunker shows on every tour. When the guitar players aren't on their game, a more frequent occurance with each progressing tour, well the shows tend to not work so well. I think everyone who follows these guys would agree. Yes, the other players cover up for Keith and Ronnies mistakes. Perhaps the horns and

T&A you make valid points and yes, the Stones are extremely unlikely to change what has been a winning formula road team for many tours. I have seen them enough on tours over the past 36 years and know these guys don't like to tinker much with things. I only yearn fom a more simple setup without the extra horns, and back up vocals. I am tired of the big stage lineup. Bring it back down t

I didn't say Chuck can't play. I just don't like him up in the mix. I am also aware of his role within the band. I disagree though about the Stones "needing" him. I believe they would find their way, if in fact they really wanted to get it together and continue playing. If they really have to have Chuck Leavell or anyone else apart from the core band members to guide them

I didn't catch the Drury Lane gig, but I have seen Mac and the Bump band twice in the past 8 months. Mac is playing great and his backing vocals would also be welcome. I think the reason the Stones would not bring him back would be due to Ronnies drinking problem and possible gangup of Keith, Ronnie, and Mac against MJ. Mac of course is known to enjoy a pint or three.

For years now I have become more and more frustrated with the intrusive and dominant spot Chuck Leavell fills within the sound of the Rolling Stones. This has always been a guitar driven band, but the sound was greatly enhanced by Stu, Nicky, and briefly Mac. Once Chuck came on board I feel there has been a general decline in the overall sound of this band. Could be of course that Keith and Ronni

If the Stones fired Don Was and Chuck Leavell, their sound would be greatly enhanced. I liked the mix better on VL than on Bridges. Was did Stripped didn't he? Leavell needs to be flat out turned down in the mix be it the studio or in particular when they play concerts. Can't stand that guy. Bring back Mac.

Not so much Stones, except for a compilation I made recently that came out really well. Lately I have been on a Sex Pistols kick. Those cats could rock it up. Great sound. NMTB has to rate one of the all time best rock albums. Still sounds awesome to me at 52. The Sex Box also has some gems from the Pistols. Highly recommended.

I very much liked the sound from the press conference. I think this was due to the abscence of Chuck Leavell, Bernard and Lisa, as well as a horn section. If we knew this basic lineup would be the only players on the upcoming tour I would be more excited. Brown Sugar sounded very good in my opinion. Guitars way up in the mix. Best version I have leard from them in awhile. Ronnie dropping in some
