I believe Irix is correct, the different letters refer to pressing plants. The image on this page shows one with the letters SP after it: I believe I have one of these promos somewhere, but don't know what the letters are on the label. If I can dig it out, I'll let you know what it has.

I thought the movie was good, but as soon as I heard Little T&A I thought, "Nope. Way too early for that song." They should have used Before They Make Me Run.

Quotejohn lomax I hate it. Had to turn it off midway. That drumbeat is imbecilic and totally ruins the feel and soul of the song. Sounds like the sort of crap my 12 year old plays on his keyboard. I'm with you on this one. Overall, Scarlet hasn't really impressed me. It's a good jam, but there's no signature riff really. For me, Charlie's drums do a lot for the feel o

Howdy, everyone! I have a couple of song series going on Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube. One is Social Distancing Song Series, where I post a song everyday. So far they are all covers. From the Stones, I have done She Smiled Sweetly. I'm trying not to repeat bands for as long as possible in this series. However, some people made requests so I started another series called Social

One track I was hoping might appear on this set was the "Rip This Joint" early version with Keith on vocals. But it's listed as an unverified track on Nico's site so it may not even exist. Would have been nice though...

I was talking about the soft touches, like how She's So Cold is actually a very subtle song. Live they just carpet bomb through it. agreed. They go at it like a freight train. I like the original tempo much better.

QuoteGasLightStreet QuoteWorriedAboutYou QuoteHouseBoyKnows This post has got to be an attempt at humor or worse, simply a troll. Me? I'd rather look at old classic Playboy magazines than make love to a beautiful woman. It's just a different opinion. I love the Stones on record but live they don't do it for me. I hope that makes it clear for you. There may be an element to wha

First came across this track on the Claudine bootleg, which has always been one of my favorite boots. Fell in love with this tune and was so happy to see it get an official release. Mick's vamp at the end is great.

I would say these are probably my top three records: England's Newest Hitmakers - White Label Promo w/ Photo in excellent condition Aftermath - Decca "Shadow Cover" Songs of the Rolling Stones - ABKCO Promo only album (2nd Cover) The one that got away: Keith's guitar pick at Roseland Ballroom. He threw one which bounced off my glasses!

I was searching on the website for Glyn Johns but the only contact info is for the publisher of his book. I was thinking if anyone here on the board knew of a way to reach him, he might be able to shed some light on the dates for RT and LIV.

Here's a theory: Is it possible that Ruby Tuesday comes from the "Jamming with Edward" session? (That would mean Ry Cooder on acoustic, I realize, but, seeing as nobody had this listed anywhere, I think it's as good a guess as any...)

Great stuff! Thanks for sharing the links. I put a couple of the tracks into Logic and used the EQ to bring down the watermark tone, which is between 510Hz - 600Hz. I lost a little bit of definition in some of the instrumentation but it was definitely easier on the ears.

I started collecting Stones boots around 79/80. There's a church in Harvard Square (Cambridge, MA, USA) that used to host a Saturday morning craft/flea market. One guy sold records exclusively at his table and he always had a ton of bootlegs. I think some I my first were: 1975 Nervous Breakdown European Tour 1973 The Stars In The Sky They Never Lie Garden State '78 (one of my favo

I just sent some pics of the Bootleg pages to your email. I think almost all of the bootlegs he lists are actually legitimate (for lack of a better word) bootlegs, although he doesn't list titles and labels for many of them. The only one I doubt the existence of is the Rock and Roll Circus boot.

Roseland Ballroom, Sept. 30, 2002. When Mick announced She Smiled Sweetly, I was stunned. I NEVER thought I would hear them play that one live! (Being about 3 feet from the stage didn't hurt either!)

Quotemattleeuk QuoteMarthijn is that Mick's shirt? Yes, hand caught in Boston! It’s my lucky field last time here I got 5 picks and a stick but there wasn’t so much competition... I was wondering who caught that! Nice catch and what an excellent addition to the collection!

Watching Jeopardy tonight, they are doing a Teen Tournament, and this answer came up: "This singer is shown with his pal Keith Richards when they were both barely out of their teens." (The picture was Mick and Keith from a 60's era tv appearance.) Was expecting a buzzer fairly quickly, but instead there was nothing but silence! Although I could hear a couple of audience members ch

There are no new el mocambo tracks on this highly deceptive release. The additional tracks on the “El Mocambo” sides are from Frankfurt, April 29, 1976 and Lyons, June 8, 1976.

I remember seeing the Emotional Rescue video on Solid Gold here in the U.S. when I was eleven years old. Loved the hook and went out to get it a couple of days later. I also picked up Hot Rocks at the same time. I thought Emotional Rescue was great (and still do!) but Hot Rocks totally blew me away! Started buying bootlegs from a guy in Harvard Square and haven't looked back. 500+ albums, 15

A coworker gave me a couple of Spiritualized albums many years ago, which I really dug, although I didn't try and stay current with them. I was record shopping last week and bought their latest album and love it. Would love to see them live on the Boston date but The Claypool Lennon Delirium is also playing that night and I already have tickets for them. Oh well, next time I guess...

Update about this album: Just got Let The Airwaves Flow Vol. 2 in the mail. Unfortunately, and I can't really say I'm surprised by this, the version of She Smiled Sweetly on this record is NOT from the Eamonn Andrews show. It is from the Roseland Ballroom, NYC, Sept. 30, 2002. I was at this show and as soon as I heard the recording I knew it was from the 2002 show, not 1967. T
