Am I the only one who thinks this is not so cool? Until we get to hear it, the talk here is going to be fully delusional and then when it's out we're going to have a big collective shrug

QuoteNilsHolgersson It seems like fake news to me, and every news source is reporting it to generate clicks. Pfftt Then you have people saying "well now they are obliged to do it" and that's basically everything that's wrong with today's world under a mafnifying glass

"The Stones going really hard at it to get the perhaps ultimate record right" seems to be mutually exclusive with "The Stones bring in what's left of Sgt Peppers lonely hearts club band" At least I hope it is

Interesting thought, you could look differently at the riffs you hear on ABB when you think of them as the riffs that remain when you try not to repeat any of your previous riffs. Maybe it's a rather narrow corridor to move around.

That's a kind of worn-out accusation that indicates someone having nothing to lose in the music business. How would it work with a band with such idiosyncracies at play. I've seen Ronnie goof off at the same moment when Keith starts with a solo in a way supposed to confuse people who was really playing it. The whole weaving thing is full of in-jokes known to people who watched more of i

The version of Hide Your Love that was added to GHS 2020 is uploaded on youtube as an "alternate mix" but it's a considerably longer demo with halfbaked lyrics so when it's also listed as "alternate mix" on the back of the actual release then these words just don't mean anything anymore.

I didn't really look into this stuff but what stood out to me instantly that most of these shows involved some elaborate choreography whereas the Stones had a crowd of what seemed to be actual fans just trample the field. In that regard there's again no question who did it best.

We still seem to lack a consensus what the word "volume" means in this regard. The set consisted of three CDs and the comprehensiveness of it makes it unlikely there's any more to it.

Quotehockenheim95 QuoteNikkei I read a lot about super deluxe but how deluxe is it really? there should be bonus material i. e. the two songs from the 12-12-12 MSG appearance. There's no Super Deluxe Edition for GRRR Live! The talks you read above is about the GRRR Super Deluxe from 2012! oh okay so how is that still a thing?

We recently had this thread about age. I've completely come to peace with how events for higher avereage age groups are organized. The seats and all that, is just how it has to be. Still they somehow manage to make you feel old about yourself even when you only just turned 30.

QuoteStonesfan2146 Oh okay I thought back of my hand would have fitted Keith too, being kind of bluesy. But those 5 all make sense! They tried waddling knee deep into the Mississippi on that one and you call it "kind of bluesy"?

"Zeltweg" is a pretty unglamorous address. It's less the name of a venue than of the road into a field where you can put up your tent.

QuoteProfessorWolf Quotedoitywoik I recall Ronnie saying in a book about the Paris sessions that they recorded enough songs for an album but didn't have the time to actually finish it. (I never get the title right so I won't make another, possibly misleading, attempt). I also remember that Ronnie said there that they also asked him if he had something to bring to the table. So it wou

When Mick sings that melody it is just infectious, especially that line about getting out of jail. Keith couldn't do that so he did something else that doesn't change the fact that it's a good riff but still seems to me that a potential hit went in the dustbin.

I know for a fact that they had a smash number lying around that Keith turned into his solo single Trouble years later. Instead, Stealing My Heart was the one they decided to focus on.

I think it's important to acknowledge that there were bullying dynamics in the early Rolling Stones. Bill must have been on the receiving end of it as was Brian most of the time. But Bill turned out much more resilient and he always could count on Charlie as a real friend who would have his back. Don't really wanna comment on Mick and Keiths role in it but stuff like that never complete

Thanks for the input, guys and gals. I have had Veruca Salt tracks on my ipod for years but never bothered to look them up. I guess it's important to loosen up a bit with the vibe these days that you don't get to idolize your stars in a sexual way when that has been at the center of it since the mid sixties as pointed out by Stoneage just now. So I'll certainly have a look at the b

QuoteTheBluesHadaBaby QuoteTopi Wonder when they're going to introduce Dynamic Pricing to DVD's and blu-rays! A few not-well-off folks I'm sure had to lug their la
