I liked Ian McLagan's boogie piano played on the 1981 tour a lot but Mick kept forgetting the words. Besides Hamption, any other recommended soundboards of this track? Thx, Steve

Is it me or do Jagger's vocals sound like his mouth is full of marbles or still suffering aftereffects of Novocaine from a dental visit? Otherwise great sound quality. Suppose I could do without Billy Preston's yodeling at the end of the song, too. Is he on organ and Stu piano or does he switch between the two? Sound is so rich and full in this performance. Seems like on all subsequ

I just discovered this on Mixcloud and I think the FM broadcast seems to enhance the sound of the guitars and offers a fuller sound in my mind: I can do an audio rip of it from the site but wondering if this specific broadcast version has ever been bootlegged as I think sound quality would likely be even better. Thanks, Steve

www.searchlossless.com has some PT but not this one. Good site, nonetheless.

Thanks for checking, Antoine. Mix of 'LSNT' I thought was awful. No bass, think trebly guitars, Charlie's drum sound is flat. Hopefully the mix of "She's So Cold" on 'Rocks Off' is somewhat better... Steve

Antoine, Thank you for the response. I never knew that "She's So Cold" is a different version on the 'Rocks Off' film. Do you know what location this was filmed? Where can I see this video? Always a minor favorite of mine! Thanks, Steve

Thank you for the post! Question, though, on this one: 23. Let's Spend The Night Together Outtake - Star Star Is this correct? I always thought the outtake was, 'When The Whip Comes Down' which was released on the Euro version, "Rocks Off." Thanks, Steve

NOTHING sounds good on the Wembley show. They took the VHS recording and just jacked up the mid section to accentuate the guitars but they still sound like the whole thing is under water! Very disappointing. Phoneix '81 would have been a MUCH better choice.

I think the live show will be somewhat enjoyable but band of the Stones caliber supporting their last great album, 'Tattoo You,' should be able to release a top-quality live performance and this, once again, falls short. So that begs the question, why release it at all? 'Still Life' is weak, Hampton is uninspired and plodding, Leeds is frenetic and sloppy. One has to wonde

Yes, it's Stu. Somewhere I read that this was a rehearsal and Bill was sick this day. The actual show performance was the following day.

For the live show, sounds like they tried to remaster the audio taken just from the video, not the masters. I don't get it.

The Wembley show sounds horrible. Muddy and murky. Shucks.

CamRS, Good points but I think the actual cache of "fully-finished" outtakes is scant despite what KR might claim. We got the lot of these outtakes earlier this year via bootleg and my hunch of what is left over and good enough for release is actually quite scant. Hope I'm wrong.

I think you're spot on Retired Dog. Stones need to expedite their "box sets" or anniversary issues. I understand there needs to be a calculated spacing between releases but I think they've waited too long for this 'Tattoo You' anniversary (they should have done a 25 year one). Plus, the unreleased songs they've chosen seem odd as compared to what we know exis

So what's with the tooty-fruity Mike Nesmith hats? Has Keith lost all hair on top??

Just listening to this... what do people think? It doesn't have Charlie's typical somewhat aggressive drum sound so I'm thinking more Mick solo outtkake? But it does have Mick's kind of groveled vocals on 'Dirty Work' so I really don't know... Thoughts?

In Bill's book, "Rolling With The Stones' he writes that they occasionally played this Chuck Berry track during the 1982 tour. See scan from book. Is he mistaken? Sweet Rock N Roller live '82

'WHEN THE WHIP COMES DOWN' - FOR SURE. Charlie picks up so much steam at the end of this one. Incredible drumming. Incredible!!

They need to release, 'Eliza Upchink' - the BEST unreleased track from the early 80's period.

'Winning Ugly' and just about everything else on DW has the worst lead vocals by Mick ever. So guttural like he'd just swallowed a box of thumb tacks.

Better than just about anything on 'Undercover' and surely surpasses the tracks on 'Dirty Work.' So why was this gem never officially released?

The idea sounds fantastic but my fear is, even if they are working with good outtakes, Mick will replace original vocals with new nasally ones like the 'Some Girls' deluxe and sound will be unlistenable. 'Tattoo You' was so good, I think any "new" tracks will be a disappointment. Just don't see them matching the original glory...

One of their best outtakes in my opinion. I believe it was first recorded during the 'Undercover' sessions and then 'Dirty Work.' Does anyone know why it wasn't released? I think it's better than any song on either of these albums... SPB

This article 'Uncut' from 2011 mentions, at the bottom of Page 55, a Dutch radio interview with Ian Stewart. I've never heard of it and couldn't find anything on Nico's site. Anyone out there might have more info or actually have it? Thank you, Steve SPB60515@yahoo.com

'81 seemed like a slopfest and the ones from 2006 seem lifeless and Mick's voice getting so nasally sounding. So are there any good versions of this classic guitar-weaving track? Thanks, Steve

Wondering if anyone knows the status of these outtakes - have they been booted yet or better yet, posted somewhere on IORR? I'd love to hear the 'SMU' rehearsals among some of the other tracks: Thansk, SPB
