Guitars were a bit more sloppy on the Licks-tour compared to No Security, but Mick was fantastic and Charlie was on fire, and overall the band was excellent and very inspired. Then on the Bigger Bang-tour it seemed like they'd lost some inspiration and were sometimes running on autopilot.

I don't know why some people have to make up stories about Keith's playing every tour. His playing is not worse than in the beginning of the tour, it has been on the same level the whole tour - very similar to last few tours. In St Louis he made mistakes and every other show this tour he also made a few mistakes here and there. Nothing new or surprising about his playing ability.

Quotecowboytoast I've noticed that when Keith starts off a song a little slow that Steve picks the tempo up as soon as the band jumps in - most noticeably on Jumpin Jack Flash tonight (from the clips I saw) Yea it's a bit of a shame. I loved how Charlie would follow Keith which meant sometimes we got slower and sometimes faster versions depending on what mood Keith was in.

Very creative intro to Satisfation, band sounds good, Mick's voice is a bit tired but I guess it's to be expected from a 78 year old singer.

QuoteRocktiludrop Don't know about that but Micks vocals definitely sound overdubbed. Yes, Mick's vocals was definitely overdubbed for some songs on the Austin 2006 concert. Just listen to Satisfaction:

Budokan 2003 ("Mission From God" version) - Great audio and picture, and interesting setlist.

QuoteRocktiludrop I suppose an old Mick, say, not as good as he was in 81' is still better than the competition. There are still certain things that are better about this band than before, when I watch them play JJF or Wild Horses a have to think hard to come up with better versions from the past. Wild Horse's JJF The JJF from 2021 is good no doubt about it. But there'

It's just a classic Keef mess up, don't take it so hard. He has played the same kind of solos for years now:

QuoteWinning Ugly VXII QuoteTheBlockbuster Sad Sad Sad was good in 89/90 and 2002. The new versions are maybe not always excellent, but it's always nice to hear something written after 1981. They should give Flip The Switch, Don't Stop or Rough Justice a try. The Phoenix 2019 "Sad sad Sad" was not too shabby. Anyway,it's a better song than "Rough Justice&qu

Most other bands do free live streams every once in a while but not the Stones. Every time they publish a concert it has to be a SUPER DELUXE BLU-RAY+DVD+2CD+4LP costing a fortune. Would be nice to see them release a free No Filter show from 2017-2019 to honour Charlie.

Mick sounded better on Trouble's A Coming this time. Keith forgot to play his riff at 2:30. Then Ronnie starts playing the wrong chord. I'm sure they will nail it the next time.

QuoteNikkei I have seen pictures of a DVD called "Three Flicks" the tongue was red and it was supposed to contain another MSG show from a night before. I've never seen any of that on youtube which is weird when I think about it. Does it actually exist? It's a bootleg set including the 16th Jan 2003 MSG show + the incomplete Toronto warm-up gig. The 16th January show is on

The backing vocals could've helped Mick even more for the chorus of "Troubles 'A Comin". Sometimes I really miss Lisa Fischer and how see was not afraid to overpower him.

QuoteAntoineParis QuoteTheBlockbuster QuoteAntoineParis St Louis on sunday was the best show they've done since 5 years. Miami 2019 in comparaison looks and sounds ridiculous. No it doesn't. What exactly "looks and sounds" ridiculous with the Miami 2019 version of Start Me Up, compared to the St. Louis 2021 version? Start me up it's not the best exemple, i admit

Ronnie said “Street Fighting Man has a new energy” with Jordan. So they might play it somewhere in the set. But it will never be as good as the blistering 2002/2003 opener versions with Charlie.

The Midnight Rambler clip sounds decent. The drums are of course much heavier. Especially compared to something like the Marquee 1971 version, but compared to a heavier version like MSG 2003, the difference is not as big in terms of loudness at least.

Charlie played slower, with a lighter touch, ever since 2012. It sounded very different from 2007. But it still sounded like the good old Stones, just older and less aggressive. Now with Steve the sound will be completely different, less wobble and not the same swing. It will be a different kind of groove. I still think they will sound good, but not in the same way as before.

60's vibe or not I would prefer to listen to the ragged 19th Nervous Breakdown from Double Door 1997 any day over this.
