I don't much like either song, so I was going to skip this. I am glad I didn't. **Very** well done.

Keith had no free time?!?!? I'm sure he has had a blank day or two on the calendar over the last 8 years if he truly wanted to go shoot some little brown kids.

I bought Candy-O the day it came out, but grew bored with them after Panorama. Moved into REM, Husker Du, the Replacements, etc. and that was that. Never saw them live, but I can see they were fairly sterile. What is amazing, though, is that I never knew Orr sang so many songs. I always thought it was all Ocasek. Just found out maybe 4-6 months ago that was not the case!!!

I never knew what it was until a year or two ago, I read (where?) that it had to do with the purity of heroin (99.9%). P.S. Hearing Keith say he has a pocket calculator has always been one of my fave lines, right up there with how it's a struggle to make ends meet and how he can't be seen with someone because she's married anyway (awww, shit!).

I vote for February 24, 1973 (Cricket Ground, Perth, Australia). Listen -- at high volume -- to the final minute (beginning at about 2:50). Every time I hear this, I'm stunned at how tight the band is. It's ridiculous.

That Keith outfit should be used in an anti-drug PSA. *** "If you take drugs, kids, you'll think it is okay to leave the house dressed like this!"

Where the hell is "Runnin' Too Deep" or "Will But You Won't"? A few too many snoozers on the Vinos.

Studio: Brown Sugar The perfect rock and roll song. Live: All Down The Line (February 24, 1973) Listen -- at high volume -- to this unstoppable locomotive, especially after about 2:50. It is stunning (and ridiculous) how tight the band is.

An amazing vocal performance of the greatest rock and roll song of all time. Jagger slurring and enunciating perfectly -- at the same time -- minimal dancing, yet total stage presence. And he is doing it in a PINK suit!

Saw it in Etobicoke, outside Toronto. LOVED IT, but the sound was about half of what it should have been. Parts got louder, but the low volume was a serious drag. I expected a crowd and a long line. We were the first ones -- and we casually walked into an empty theatre an hour before 7. It filled up with maybe 100 people, mostly old farts like me (46). (Man, Keith is a demon on the las

Robert Christgau: "Only rock and roll? The Stones are the proof of the form. When the guitars and the drums and the voice come together in those elementary patters that no one else has ever quite managed to simulate, the most undeniable excitement is a virtually automatic result. To insist that this excitement doesn't reach you is not to articulate an aesthetic judgment but to assert

Trying to find Beelyboy's memories of seeing L&G in NYC in 1974. I found a few of his posts about the film, but not the one I am thinking of, of sitting there in the dark, waiting, waiting, waiting, and BAM! -- with the huge sound and mammoth screen. It was an effin' great post -- it was posted this summer -- and since I just bought tix to the screening (in Etobicoke, Ontari
