QuoteRolling Hansie Thanks Mr DJA, but the story on Wikipedia is also very complicated to me. Keith specifically refers to the 5 string open tuning, starting at page 241. I was afraid it might be... I'll look up the quote in the book and see if I can get my brain to function better for you when I'm outside of corporate america. Peace, Mr DJA

QuoteRolling Hansie BTW, in the same chapter Keith is talking about the 5 chord open tuning. He speaks about Mozart and Vivaldi using the same technique in some sort of way. Now I am not a guitarplayer myself and I am only a very little bit into classical music. Anyone here to Shine A Light on that ? If I can remember the part in the book correctly... Keith was talking about the use of a &qu

Quoted from the link posted above: "Mick Jagger described Keith Richards' autobiography as "a bit b***hy", the Rolling Stones guitarist has revealed. He told BBC 6 Music his bandmates had given the recently published book, Life, good reviews but the singer had said it was "a bit b***hy here and there". Note: We don't have a quote of MICK saying "it&

QuoteNatlanta this is just that money-grabber Jagger cashing in before the ice caps melt. disgusting. Here I thought it was going to done in 2022 as part of the "We May Be Old Bluesmen But We're Still Relevent" Tour: The first band to play both poles AFTER the ice melts... Truth is... I'd probably consider going to see them... Peace, Mr DJA

QuoteBärs It actually is possible that Keith "lied" in the 70's and that the recent account is more balanced. If Keith started emphasizing Stu's role after Stu died, as some say, it's not strange if he, and others, did the same after Brian died. The early accounts might have been influenced by the fact that Brian had died and people involved were "nice" when

QuoteBrue Ain't no view to articulate. Your post was unintelligible, it just sounded like something a douchebag would say. Hey guess what - I'm sober now, but I won't be when I play my bass tonight. I can't guarantee I'll be 100% sober when I play, but I won't be 100% drunk either. I bet if an airline pilot drank a few beers you would probably mind, wouldn'

QuoteBrue You're an embarassment to bass players, me being one. There's a name for people like this where I come from. It's called douchebag. And here I was hoping for some intelligent replies. Although I should give you credit for the correct spelling and usage of multi-syllable words, name calling doesn't necessarily get full credit in my book. I'm glad to see y

The beautiful thing is, a promoter can have any clause they want and an artist can choose not to work with that promoter if they don't want to conform to the clauses in the contract. It's called doing business. I think it's kind of funny to read some of the posts here advocating the "artists right" and not being "told what to do", etc. One quote from

(Why do I think that both fiftyamp and I are about to be told how wrong we are?) While there is no doubt that, with the subtleties of the English language, it can be read both ways, I find it interesting that, up until this point,

I was just reading recently in some guitar magazine about Keith's use of the "Gibson Fuzz Box" (some guitar expert can clarify the exact name and model) on "Satisfaction". Beelyboy You're more than welcome. Glad you enjoyed the post. I'm opposite you in the fact that I'm a bass player who is constantly playing more and more standard guitar. Being used to the longer necks and thus wider fret spacing I've for years had to struggle with the smaller spacing of the guitar. Then ya'll had to add that silly third into the tuning! Don
