QuoteBarkerboy2 Any news of the new album though? The album is being mixed right now, it should be done in 15 days or so with a late November or early December release as a strong posibility.

Ok, some fresh information: The album is almost ready, 95% at least, some missing overdubs will be finished in the next few days, there are tracks in the mixing stage now and it is estimated that everything will be finished by the end of June or the beginning of July at the latest, very similar to the recording of Steel Wheels in 1989 which was from April to June of that year. If Black and Blue is ready to go in November, then the new album could be released in April/May 2026 if they want to tour Europe next year. The logical is to release the new album during the Christmas season this year with Black and Blue pushed to April 2026, but who knows.

QuoteIrix QuoteProfessorWolf maybe my impression overall is wrong but they do seem as a group to be more open to older music then i would have ever thought That's interesting. Play them the album ‘The Rolling Stones’ (UK, 1964) and then let them decide whether they would spend their $25 on this album or rather on the next album by Taylor Swift (respectively a present-day musician).

She owns the whole industry, the #1 by a very long shot, she devalued the cost of the original masters and paid less for them now than she would have in 2019, and there is no doubt that the re-recordings were a big boom to her crazy popularity the last few years, a 100% win in every aspect.

Every new release has a team working on its promotion and a budget for it. no label is going to throw money away, no matter who you are and with Hackney Diamonds the entire budget was provided upfront, Universal knew that the album would remain in the charts for two months due to demand during the holiday season, and that nothing could be done after that, radio wouldn't play any new singles,

QuoteGasLightStreet UMG's biggest issue was not releasing a (fourth) single just prior to the 2024 tour. UMG's 18 month plan turned out to be a bust: with a new single they could've done more in regard to sales for HD yet alone streaming, which is an aside regardless, but, you know, numbers. Instead they focused on various vinyl issues. Name/star recognition is not enough. That

Quotekeefmick Georgelicks--is that from insider knowledge or an educated guess? A mix of both, Universal is ready to promote a new Stones album by late 2025. If all goes well it is a probable plan, if the album is finished by July it is a minimum of 4 months for the manufacturing of the vinyl so a release in the last week of November or the first of December is perfect to take advantage of t

QuoteA whole different thing started in 2005. Horrible, really. It's amazing they toured. Financial amazement, Stones doing Stones, inventively dead. Nostalgia band. Nothing strange happened, in 2005-2007 the key members of the band (Mick, Keith and Charlie) reached retirement age, 65 years, and the band practically retired in 2007, since then they continued sporadically with mini tours

New Andrew Watt' interview in Rolling Stone: There are plenty of leftover songs from the Hackney Diamonds sessions, and Watts wants the Stones to finish them. “It was a prolific time for the band. Those sessions, they had amassed like 18 years of material,” Watt says. “There was so much to go through and there was so much to kind of choose from initially, and then there were new songs tha

When Ghost Town came out, Mick and Keith said they had 5-6 songs finished from the 2019 sessions. In 2023, Mick said they had more songs finished with Charlie and they only chose 2 that went well with Hackney Diamonds, Mick also said they had several recorded takes of Driving Me Too Hard with Charlie but they didn't like it and re-recorded it with Steve Jordan. Rock music may still be huge, but its current leading lights are putting up much smaller sales and streaming numbers than those in pop, R&B/hip-hop and country. QuoteMatt1984 Contracts were all signed apart from Mick, who refused to sign. Apologies if this has already been mentioned. That is not new, it has been like this for decades, 90% of the decisions to tour happen if Mick feels like it or wants to do it, the rest accompanies his decisions and waits. Again, everyone is free to do things on their own, organize tours or concerts with and wherever
