Quotejp.M ...very low in the UK Amazon chart since the announcement some months ago... The hype for this release is almost zero, last year's GHS re-issue had a lot of promotion, Scarlet was on Radio 2 list for over a month, videos, remixes, etc. Even with all that hype, GHS debuted at #1 with 13k sold, can't see the new TY selling even half of that number.

Quotethunderball QuoteBig Al Quoteironbelly What are the chances Tattoo You, 40th anniversary will reach the top spot in the charts and will it survive after November 5? I'd imagine there's an outside chance of Tattoo You reaching #1, but ABBA willreach the top-spot in the U.K., Australia, and across Europe; that's for certain. I know someone who works in the industry and is

QuoteDGA35 I think the band's labels need to get their albums recertified. I'm sure Hot Rocks will go up a lot from it's current 12x platinum in the US. Hot Rocks should be at 16-18x Platinum at least, the latest certification was almost 20 years ago and the album is a steady seller, about 250k each year.

QuoteDoxa Hmm... The latest turn of this thread seems to be bashing "Living in A Ghost Town"... I predict that the new album (if and when it will be released) will be a huge disappointment for many people, since I am afraid it is not going to be a new EXILE... - Doxa For some regular visitors on this thread the last good Stones song was Waiting On A Friend or something from Exil

Sadly rock music is an indie genre on today's people taste, Drake's latest album had 230 million streams in the US on a single day, that's more than the streams from the whole Stones catalog in a full year, insane.

QuoteDGA35 Hi Georgelicks, was there a boost on the Billboard charts for Stones albums/songs because of Charlie? I know when Eddie VH passed, a number of VH albums/songs re-entered the charts. I'm guessing Hot Rocks would have re entered? The new Billboard chart will be updated on Tuesday Aug. 30, the Stones were at #152 last week with Hot Rocks. In the UK, the Stones are charting in

QuoteBig Al Quotegeorgelicks 8 outtakes from TY and 3 from GHS last year, we've got a nice "new" album with 11 tracks from the 70's, released in 2020-21. I do hope you’re not suggesting that the Stones feel they’ve fulfilled their contractual obligations! In other words: the lazy gits are not obliged to offer any more! They have no contractual obligation in the recording

Sadly it's only business and insurance today, no more artistic integrity, the cost of not doing the tour is worse, a big lawsuit of many years against them, a time loss, time that they don't have now.

A trio of Record Store Day releases round out the new top 10 on Top Album Sales. Amy Winehouse’s Remixes debuts at No. 8 with 8,000; The Rolling Stones’ Hot Rocks 1964-1971 re-enters at No. 9 with nearly 8,000 (up 1,482%) and Miles Davis’ Champions: Rare Miles From the Complete Jack Johnson Sessions debuts at No. 10 (7,500). QuoteDGA35 I'm assuming the tour announcement is what caused the uptick in sales? Georgelicks, what is your guesstimate as to how many Hot Rocks has sold now in the US? I believe it's certified at 12 million sold (6 mil x 2 as double album)? It was last certified in October 2002 at 12x Platinum, including streaming points it should be at 17-18x Platinum by now at least.

The album also ranks at #9 on this week's Billboard Top Selling Albums with almost 6,000 copies sold thanks to the Record Store release. Including streaming points the album reaches 15,000 sales/points, enough for a re entry on this week's Billboard 200 at #33. It's the album best position on The Billboard 200 since August 2013 when a sale on iTunes landed the alb

QuoteDiegoGlimmerStones Hey guys so apparently the Stones plan to get together by August 14th Does anyone think if this date is for studio work or rehearsals for the Tour? Tattoo You Deluxe edition is the Stones release for 2021 in October, that's confirmed in Universal. No word for the new album this year, no way they would release both things in less than 3 months. QuoteDoxa Looking at the UK single charts, they had no problem getting top 20 with most leading singles all the way to "Streets Of Love" that made #15 (quite good, huh?). Then dramatical fall ("Doom And Gloom" #61, "Living In A Ghost Town" #61), reflecting the tendency happened earlier in the US Charts. Actually, the last UK number one is "Honky Tonk Women"

Well, according to Mick the new stuff hurts the Stones legacy, "it has to be very good" on his own words. After ABB he lost interest in music too, he didn't release a solo album in 20 years either, only a couple of new songs here and there and I'm sure he has over 50 songs or demos written during the last 15+ years.

QuoteTell that to Paul McCartney. Since 2006, he's released 4 albums of completely new material, one cover album, 2 classical(!) albums, one 'super group' album, and has launched his own (arguably better than the Stones) Archives line. All while touring like mad. Or if we want someone not exactly on the same level as the Stones, let's look at Bruce Springsteen. Since 2006,
