Quotedaspyknows He cancelled the tour to stand with Keith. (I am joking) With all of the post 75 year old musicians outcomes like this are always possible. Lets see if he plays anything in the US or whether last year was it. I will be in Europe during the planned dates. I will need to find others to see. Guns n'Roses are doing a couple of indoor shows in June

Quotephd27 Residency might be an option to consider as it is the last one. The current cash machine artists do that. Harry Styles, Taylor Swift, Oasis (to some extent). They earn in 30 gigs what the Stones grossed in 120 gigs over a 1 year time period of time. That to say is they can cover the astronomic insurance costs by performing 3 x 3 shows ( NY, London, BA). all these artists you mention

QuoteIrix Quoteslewan A prize draw is much more attractive than simply promising some news (althought the prizes are pretty lame). Lame prizes & restrictions make little sense to me for an album promo. Data collection? Maybe. But if you firmly believe that they're doing this to prepare the promo of their upcoming new album, then good for you. It'll definitely happen as long a

QuoteIrix Quoteslewan I guess they are doing this in preparation for promoting their upcoming new album. If so, they could simply write that they have surprise news for you when you subscribe. (If the new album is really ready to promote.) And this country restriction makes no sense for an album-promo. I guess they are aiming beyond the diehard fans. Plus: A prize draw is much more attrac

I can't think of any (non-music) movie that features more Rolling Stones songs than Scorsese's Casino: 1. Long Long While, 2. Satisfaction, 3. Heart of Stone, 4. Sweet Virginia, 5. Can't You Hear Me Knocking, 6. Gimme Shelter (a. studio and b. live version) As far as I remember the movie also features a cover version of Satisfaction by someone else.

QuoteStoneage The thing with Dylan is: He comes from the folk- and protest songs tradition. Like Woody Guthrie. Yet he is completely estranged from politics. Whatever he says has no bearing at all on modern politics. He is like a hibernated hippie from the 60s. A protest singer without any message. 1. Dylan has quit writing protest songs (before the mid-60s), i.e. long before a lot of people

QuoteStonedRambler QuoteMeise Dylan never cared about his audience. He plays what he likes to play and doesn't give a damn what other people might think. Unlike the Stones he plays a new album nearly in its full entirity (what he's currently still doing). Last time the Stones did that was in 1978 but never again. They give the majority of concertgoers what they want. And that’s why
