QuoteLien Black Crowes - Cancel Everything 23/10/2005 Ronnie Wood cover Great stuff, never knew the Crowes covered that gem. Love so much of Ronnie's solo material, particularly the first two albums. The Crowes have covered quite a lot of Stones tracks. I remember seeing them in the late 90s in Dublin, last gig of whatever tour that was, and for the encore they played a rip-roar

Thanks so much Werther, that's the one I've seen on filefactory. Would the sound be much improved from the broadcast version?

Just rediscovering this show, one of my very first introductions to the Stones. Taped from Sky 30 years ago, VHS I still have. Two versions on YouTube, original broadcast with decent sound, and new one but Keith's guitar almost inaudible! For DVD, would the ZitRock 2013 issue have the best sound?

QuoteTumblinDice76 30th Anniversary of Voodoo. Not that they need an Anniversary year to release a special edition. BTB set could be interesting Had the same thought when reading the title, 30th Anniversary of VL. The album sold very well, over 6 million I think? There is real scope there for a quality deluxe reissue - the known outtakes that were on the Brew/Stew/Residue, and some of those wer

QuoteDoxa QuoteSpud I'm not one for analysing anything much ... ..but I'm still getting this album out and playing it on a frequent basis. I play it occasionally, like I would play any other good album. But what I find on it special is the way it brings me certain joy and pleasure like no other new or recent album by anyone does. No matter what is going on, all the trouble in the

My name is Gearoid (Irish for Gerard), from Limerick City - the barbarian west coast of this fair Isle. Been a fan of this band for 30 years. Have seen them 14 times; first was Wembley 1995, last was Glasgow 2018. Met Ronnie & Bill, would love to meet Keef! It began in '93, I had a building fascination with them - a legacy act with a significant catalogue and a bit of wild reputat

QuoteGasLightStreet I've had time away from HD - and anything else. Sold my house (home) of the last 10 years and, in the duration of being homeless for 11 days, I ordered, for reasons I have yet to figure out, HONK (2 cd) and TIME WAITS FOR NO ONE. After getting in to the "new" house and getting a few things in order, started listening to them (as well as Dr Dre's THE

Just ordered it. The whole archive releases since 2010 or so have in the most part been class. Some mixing was bizarre, yes, like Voodoo Miami. But overall, even the last few - Licks Live NYC, have been a blast. A lot of real gems over the last decade plus. Finally also ordered with it the 30th Anniv 2-CD Main Offender. Love the album much more now than I did in the 90s.

Hopefully whatever legal issues there are are sorted, as we would all love a cleaned up Paris '7

Revisited for the first time in a good few weeks and enjoyed just as much as those magic initial listenings. This one definitely has staying power, a great Stones album in my opinion. Total immersion in Stones DVDs this weekend also - Hampton '81, L&G '72, Tokyo '90. Salt Lake City '05. Anticipating the release of the Wiltern show in just a few weeks. 'A Life In

Quotefrankotero Another question to attach here, does the Gimme Shelter store still exist? I remember lots of great stores in the 80s/90s. I remember the Gimme Shelter store in Tokyo! Was there in 2008 or so; took a while to locate it that day, and we were in a rush to see Megadeth that evening. Finding it was wonderful though - lots of cool stuff. Bought postcards, book or two, a few CD's

I've come to really enjoy the Wheels tour and the Flashpoint album. In the 90s discovering the band I sought out the boots of proshots from the 70s, films like 'Gimme Shelter', and loved the Babylon tour. Urban Jungle was slicker than both Babylon & Voodoo tours. Over the years though, and in particular shows like Tokyo, Atlantic City, the London 7th July CD, the tours majes

On this one we differ Voodoo, I see your point but for me the modern touch would be a plus. It must have been like for fans in '78 hearing the new wave, punk & disco flavoured 'Some Girls'. Modern at that time, but still identifiably Stones (same for ER & TY). Again in '89, just for another example - 'Steel Wheels' was very produced, and many still prefer

Ordered 'Sucking in the Seventies' from JPC. Postage to Ireland from Amazon was being quoted as €30; I'm sure I could combine items but I really only want SITS. JPC offered it for €5 shipping. SITS is perhaps my favourite compilation - there is just something about it with it's wonderful mix of outtakes, radio edits, and live. The AllMusic review nails it, it sums up the

QuoteSighunt Boy, when i see this, how I would love to acquire a complete professionally shot 69 show of the Stones at the Garden before I leave this world. Such a shame that what's left over from what the Maysles filmed is just sitting in a vault somewhere gathering dust... I know, how we all wish we could see that footage. Knowing that there exists a full show (or shows, surely) from 196

We all hear things differently, that's the beauty of music. For die hards like us on the board, the weight of expectation is quite a hurdle for any album by the band, we'll sometimes critique it far more surgically than casual reviewers/listeners would. I posted a few days back I love the album, the expectation for me was not only met but surpassed. I don't think of any of it as

156k in UK alone in 9 weeks, and a second time atop the charts. Amazing. I love the album. It had a magic and a charm to it that first day - after 18 years since ABB - two days prior to release, shut myself off from the noise of the house, an ice cold Coke, good set of headphones - an hour plus, full album through, selected tracks repeated. Sounded so good, and for me its lost none of its cha

Love it, as I do the whole album. Black & Blue, the songs, the image, the aura around them at the time, the European tour in '76 - decadence indeed with some great songs. Hey Negrita, like Hot Stuff, is irresistible. Loved the version on the Knebworth boot even more than the studio version, both are mighty fine, funky Stones joints. Memory Motel, Fool To Cry; a pair of sublime bal
