QuotePaddy Can’t believe I’m saying this as an Irishman…. I’d be ok with England winning this out. There’s a lot of decent lads in this current England team and Gareth Southgate is a gentleman. I would like to see him win the tournament after fans threw beer on him. Disgraceful stuff from a minority. He’s toughed out enough over the last few years and come close previously so I’d like to see h

Lot of good points above on Buttons & Majesties. A taste I definitely acquired over the years with Majesties - absolutely love it. Even it's far out, acid trippin' raga excursions like Gomper and Sing this All Together (see what happens). Mudically rich, evocative and ethereal - with the song craft almost meeting that. Some genuine magic like 2,000 Light Years, Citadel, Rainbow, 2,0

Shocking news, and very sad. I had the pleasure of knowing Gazza (and some of his best friends from Belfast who attended the gigs with him) well since 2003. Met in Dublin prior to the Licks shows in September '03, and met him on many occasions in the years since. When I first met my now wife, Gazza and John (also sadly missed) made sure to host us in Belfast for an evening of drinking

Late to this particular party; just purchased the CD last week and have to say I am loving it! Watched the YouTube videos when they appeared of the RAH/Troudabor, but having the CD really brings it to life. Some fine blues there and hearing Ronnie and Mick Taylor trade solos is great.

Couple of really slow gig years since departing Dublin. Limerick down here on the west coast doesn't get as many, and travel/accommodation in Dublin makes choosing gigs a bit harder. But, Limerick this summer does have Liam Gallagher - playing the 'Definitely Maybe' album in it's entirety for it's 30th Anniv plus B-Sides. I was sure 2024 would see the Oasis reunion, bu

I've always been a fan of Keith's ballads, and for me they are among the standouts on the albums. 'Sleep Tonight' is a beauty, even better was 'Slipping Away'. One of my all-time favourite Stones tracks, 'Slipping' is just a gem. 'The Worst', 'Thru and Thru' - two of the high points on Voodoo. 'How Canm I Stop' from Babylon.

QuoteLien Black Crowes - Cancel Everything 23/10/2005 Ronnie Wood cover Great stuff, never knew the Crowes covered that gem. Love so much of Ronnie's solo material, particularly the first two albums. The Crowes have covered quite a lot of Stones tracks. I remember seeing them in the late 90s in Dublin, last gig of whatever tour that was, and for the encore they played a rip-roar

Just rediscovering this show, one of my very first introductions to the Stones. Taped from Sky 30 years ago, VHS I still have. Two versions on YouTube, original broadcast with decent sound, and new one but Keith's guitar almost inaudible! For DVD, would the ZitRock 2013 issue have the best sound?

QuoteTumblinDice76 30th Anniversary of Voodoo. Not that they need an Anniversary year to release a special edition. BTB set could be interesting Had the same thought when reading the title, 30th Anniversary of VL. The album sold very well, over 6 million I think? There is real scope there for a quality deluxe reissue - the known outtakes that were on the Brew/Stew/Residue, and some of those wer

QuoteDoxa QuoteSpud I'm not one for analysing anything much ... ..but I'm still getting this album out and playing it on a frequent basis. I play it occasionally, like I would play any other good album. But what I find on it special is the way it brings me certain joy and pleasure like no other new or recent album by anyone does. My name is Gearoid (Irish for Gerard), from Limerick City - the barbarian west coast of this fair Isle. Been a fan of this band for 30 years. Have seen them 14 times; first was Wembley 1995, last was Glasgow 2018. Met Ronnie & Bill, would love to meet Keef! It began in '93, I had a building fascination with them - a legacy act with a significant catalogue and a bit of wild reputat

Just ordered it. The whole archive releases since 2010 or so have in the most part been class. Some mixing was bizarre, yes, like Voodoo Miami. But overall, even the last few - Licks Live NYC, have been a blast. A lot of real gems over the last decade plus. Finally also ordered with it the 30th Anniv 2-CD Main Offender. Love the album much more now than I did in the 90s.

Was there in 2008 or so; took a while to locate it that day, and we were in a rush to see Megadeth that evening. Finding it was wonderful though - lots of cool stuff. Bought postcards, book or two, a few CD's

I've come to really enjoy the Wheels tour and the Flashpoint album. In the 90s discovering the band I sought out the boots of proshots from the 70s, films like 'Gimme Shelter', and loved the Babylon tour. Urban Jungle was slicker than both Babylon & Voodoo tours. Over the years though, and in particular shows like Tokyo, Atlantic City, the London 7th July CD, the tours majes
