QuoteBjorn Amazing. He does not only remeber all the words - he put emotions in to it. Mr Springsteen knows how to deliver - even a seldom played gem. He, like the Stones and many other bands do, have video screens discretely placed in front of them which have the words, arrangements and sometimes the chords. Can clearly see three screens sunken into the stage in this video and one between

They also played "Long Live Rock" at various gigs in 1979....obviously doesn't fit the description (being officially released) but perhaps it was just a snippet you heard. Could you post a link to the bootleg tracklists you mention - might help someone narrow down the track you are looking for. This gives an excuse to post this link. video:

One possibility is that someone has been able to record the IEM feeds (in ear monitors) which are usually different mixes for each musician and from these mixes created a stereo spread. The sound is so "clean" it could also be that someone got hold of a multitrack feed from the soundboard in order to create such a professional mix. However if you listen to HTW Chuck's keyboar

I have a double CD of the 79 gig. Here's a link to YT where someone has kindly uploaded the audio. I was at that 1979 gig so it's great to have the CD however the show on Friday, though good, highlighted to me that Macca's voice can't now cope with quite a few of the songs he plays live. In particular "Maybe I'm Amazed" was a real struggle for Paul.

In Edinburgh you could pick up your LD tickets from late morning and leave the area completely. I got mine around 5:00pm and was left to make my own way into the stadium.

I mentioned on another thread that by dropping YCAGWYW, Midnight Rambler and Miss You they would free up over 25 mins. This would allow about 6 or 7 shorter songs. I was at Murrayfield with Mrs GW who had never seen the band before She could be classed as an average Josephine who was only familiar with the hits. She was mightily impressed with the performance and noted how the whole band appe

For some reason Edinburgh does not guarantee seats will be together. Can only proceed if you say you will accept split seats. UPDATE: After a few attempts the warning about split seats disappeared. Two tickets purchased for £70 - a bargain!

Not sure if this has been mentioned, and at the risk of being harangued, if they dropped YCAGWYW, Midnight Rambler and Miss You that would "free up" well over 20 mins which could be filled with 6 or 7 shorter songs (maybe from a pool of a dozen - rotated each gig) and perhaps make the setlists a bit more enticing for those who want a more varied selection each night. Just sayin'

re The Dublin gig. Just noticed that standing tickets are 77 euro - Edinburgh comes in at the equivalent of 114 euro. Bit of a bargain to be had in Ireland then.

Quotelaughinearlydied it is no longer about wether you can afford it or not, it is about rationality. if I spend the money for the pit, I won't get what I paid for. I will hear all the same songs I've been hearing for ages, probably even at the same order, on a huge stadium filled with a lot of people that do not give a rats ass about the band and are there because it is fashionable an

QuoteCallM Quotestabilo hi all can anybody tell me on previous shows are the lucky dips if seated are together I think you can only but in pairs and if you get seats you are together I was looking at Edinburgh LD tickets. It stated that seats, should that be what you get, are not guaranteed to be next to each other.

When I checked Edinburgh earlier only directed me to two LD tickets - seated but not together - probably just covering themselves. Hoped to buy just one but all Edinburgh LDs now sold out. For those who know their stuff....is it likely that LD tickets may appear for sale as the weeks go by?

First saw the Stones in 1976 at the Glasgow Apollo. All seats £3.50 in a 2,500 seater venue Corrected for inflation - £27.00 in 2018. So, in Edinburgh this year the equivalent GA is now over £100 (with fees)and seats, apart from those far from the stage, are even more expensive. As much as I appreciate that the finances of the music business have shifted from record sales to live gigs
