"I was born in a crossfire hurricane." Can't get any more biographical than that.

I never knew he was gay (openly, apparently), although I probably should have. His "Transformer" album is one of my all-time favorites. A great guy, from all accounts, and a wonderful man who was openly gay at a time when it was not fashionable. I read one of his biographies and was most impressed with his demeanor and street smarts.

This really seems to be the year/years of the rock bio. Just saw one about the Faces in the bookstore. Anybody read this one?

I read on IMdb that in the cult film Slap Shot, Charlie is playing drums in one of the bars where the movie was filmed. Does anyone know if this is true?

On August 15, 1977 my father died suddenly. It was a shock to everyone in our family and it wasn't until days later that I actually found out Elvis had died. One of my uncles showed up at our house with a tabloid newspaper with the screaming headline, "The King is Dead." I was an Elvis fan, but hardly a devotee as many people were. I was more of a fan of his movies and his earl

Geez, I'm bowled over by how many Stones Philly shows have been mentioned here. My first was the now defunct Philly Spectrum in July of 1972. Me and a friend from high school decided to make a day of it and left at 10 am and spent the day partying in the park. By the time the show started, I was dead and completely missed Stevie Wonder, but woke up in time to waltz down past the guards an

David Bowie at the Tower Theater in Philly - my dad told me I couldn't go because I'd been to too many concerts that year. Led Zep at JFK in Philly - had tix but Robert Plant's son died and show was cancelled.

The dreaded cherry picker became a major sticking point in the then-deteriorating relationship between Mick and Keith. Keith, of course, hated it.

Always loved this, with Bill as the night watchman walking through the museum, eventually finding Mick in his 1972-73 stage costume. I guess Bill not being in the band anymore would squelch any chance of this being re-released, eh?

Realized this when making a mix tape the other day - the Stones sure seem to be "Out of" quite frequently - Time, Control, Tears ...

Philadelphia 1972 - the live album that was never released, I believe it was to be titled. "Exile on Broad Street."

To no surprise, the American Stones Merchandise Store has been advertising a Valentine's Day 40 percent off storewide sale all weekend (with certain exclusions, of course). The problem is, I've clicked all over the link and it won't open, and none of the merchandise is listed as being on sale. The sale is supposed to last through Monday, but it might as well last until Christmas if

Just ran across this story by accident - The Stones show in Anaheim in 1978 when the stage was littered with shoes after Mick, after sandals were tossed on stage, suggested everyone toss their shoes. Great picture of Mick standing in a sea of footwear.

Just watching this show for the first time, and while it's not the perfect Stones show it's fun hearing an adventurous setlist (can you imagine hearing You Gotta Move or Fingerprint File these days?) and the Stones looking like they're having fun, although on some of the long shots it appears the crowd down front is actually sitting down politely.

It seems the merchandise ordered from rollingstonesuk is arriving much faster than from rollingstones.com. The shirts I ordered in June from rollingstones.com have still not arrived, while the shirts I ordered from rollingstonesuk arrived in a little over a week.

With Easter having just gone by, and being a Stones T-shirt collector, I was just wondering if there were Stones Easter or Christmas t-shirts? I have the Thanksgiving, Halloween and flag shirts (for the Fourth, or Memorial or even Labor Days). I'm also aware of the Christmas pins and Christmas cards. But were there specific Christmas shirts or those for Easter? If so, I don't recall t
