QuotedeardoctorHey, what about DIRTY WORK? Hard and agressive tunes with soulstyle and lots of great guitar work. In my opinion THESE were the last creative Stones lol

Some sets work better than the others... Let´s say someone goes to only one Springsteen show in his/her lifetime. I guess the person would like to hear as many classic songs as possible. So it´s a bit risky to change the set around that much. I would be pissed off to know they had played my favorite song last night but would not play it this time. Of course the artist has the right to play what t

It´s a good thing if you go to many shows. If you only go to one show, you wanna hear the hits.

Stripped is a good version IMO. The false start is funny. LIB version is a bit lazy, but good. The vocals could be better.

They played without Ritchie already in 1975-76, the late Tommy Bolin being the replacement. Other members were David Coverdale, Glenn Hughes, Jon Lord and Ian Paice. This line-up made one excellent album: Come taste the band. They split up in 1976. Purple reformed with Gillan and Blackmore in 1984.

Quotestickydion BTW, anybody can see how low the general level of sales is... An album of a famous, good selling act like REM's sells 469,500 copies on it's two first weeks. (If i remember correctly, ABB had sold 1.1 million on it's two first weeks). Music only taken from Internet? Who knows, maybe in four - five years from now...Or sooner? Music only taken from internet? Well,

Quotenanker25 There will come a time that they should retire. Hopefully they'll realize this before the fans do. (Maybe that time came at the end of last year's tour). They will only retire when one of them dies. Ask Keith.

Of course Jagger is not what he used to be, he is 65. He´s still very good of course. It´s just he refuses to show his age. Look at the lyrics on ABB, ridiculous. "he has that peter pan syndrome. I don´t see the point in trying to be 25 when you´re not. all he needs to do is to get to that f-ng mike and sing" -Keith Richards, many years ago

In Q 1994: "The interesting old farts" was the headline. This was a quote from Keith. Keith said they were viewed as boring old farts when the punk movement came around in 1978, but now they were interesting old farts.

He introduced Ronnie as "The Brittish Andy Mccoy" in Helsinki 1998. That was a good one. Andy Mccoy is the guitarist of the Finnish group Hanoi Rocks.

QuoteDoxaBoth BEGGARS and LET IT BLEED offer creative hights and experiments that lack from STICKY and EXILE. I am talking about "Sympathy For The Devil" and "Gimme Shelter" - those songs are so far from their typical musical canon, even though they might be their best recorded efforts ever . Even though EXILE is a masterpiece it somehow culminates their musical evolution, and

I like it. I like most of Voodoo lounge...no really bad songs there. Of course some are better than the others. Sweethearts together is questionable...but ok.

Quotejohn nichollsOh dear I think I rattled a few cages. I really would love to see another Stones album but I want it to be great but deep down I know it will be another average album. Sorry if I upset anyone just trying to be realistic. I think you are absolutely right. It will be a decent album if we´re lucky. Still, it would be fun to hear some new music from the old boys.

Quotejohn nichollsCan anyone tell me why we need a new Stones album??? I don't think they would just make a record without touring. Even if they tour they won't play the songs live just look at the Bigger Bang tour. Plus they hardly sell many these days. Just my thoughts. John Nicholls The question is: why not ? We'll never get another Exile on main street but it could stil

QuotesirdougIt's all starting to catch up with Keith after all these years...but he's still alive and playing,so that's goodness. If they do a new record I hope they go back to their roots. They kind of went back to the roots with ABB by cutting down the number of side players. It was quite "meat and potatoes" musically, simple rock´n roll songs. But I agree with you,

3 Hyde Park, London July 5, 1969 This was a dreadful performance, was'nt it? Keith was wasted and Mick had just joined the band. I've seen the film, it was not great musically. And all those wasted people in the audience, not a pretty sight. Of course, it might have been great to actually be there and experience it all.
