Making Easter Eggs this weekend. Just like the two-colour, cream eggs sold by the zillion in the stores. They're pretty good. 1/2 cup softened, unsalted butter 1 teaspoon vanilla 1 teaspoon salt 1/2 can sweetened condensed milk 5 to 5 1/2 cups icing sugar. Mix and chill Take 1/3 of cream mixture and colour with yellow food colouring. Make into small yolk balls and chill again.

It was a good read, like the Rev says. I didn't know much about Kenneth Anger, but had read everything I could find about Manson back in the day, so it wove a pretty compelling story, and Lazar is positively lyrical at times - quite the juxtaposition given the subject(s).

Bored bored bored bored bored. Went to see Fleetwood Mac last week. I smuggled in some contraband, was worried if they found it they'd throw me out. I took... a bottle cap. This time last year, I was in New York having a rather nice time with The Boys. Is it All Over Now? Is this what I'm down to - smuggling in bottle caps so I can close my water, not spill it all over the damn p

QuoteDoxa I've read some doom future tellers but this must be the most impressing one... According to the Russian professor of international politics and the history of America 'scholar', Igor Panarin, the future of USA will be quite interesting.... an economical crisis will lead to a new civil year - Obama is equal to Gorbatchov of The Soviet Union; talking nicely of the reform

I went to their 5th Anniversary show last April in Toronto. The album was Some Girls and Merry Clayton made a guest appearance, did a short set with them after SG including Gimme Shelter. They aren't the Stones, but it was a goooood time. (Fittingly, CAL perform at the Phoenix when in Toronto, site of a legendary Stones club gig... which I missed.)

Naughty! Three men are in a bar, talking about women, and how they drive them wild. The french man says "When I am with a woman, I like to nibble on her elbows, it drives them wild!" The Italian man says "When I am with a woman, I like to nibble on the back of her neck, it drives them wild!" The Canadian says "When I'm with a woman, I wipe myself off on

Either Around and Around or It's All Over Now. I was maybe 5 years old. Then the Stones dropped off my radar when I heard Herman's Hermits I'm Into Something Good. I'm all better now.

Thought I had this one figured out for you StratoGR, but I was remembering the wrong clip. I was thinking of the Simpsons episode with In A Gadda Da Vida. Still worth a listen, though. Rock and/or Roll on.

QuotesweetcharmedlifeLose your glasses? Clapton and Winwood had only performed together a handful of times before playing at Clapton's 2007 Crossroads Festival outside Chicago, which inspired them to team up for the Madison Square Garden shows. A CD/DVD of those performances will be out this spring, with details to be announced. Whoooops! I have a bad cold. I thought it was driven in

They must be saving the announcement of the Toronto leg for later... The MSG gig was amazing, would love to see them again. And am very surprised there's no CD or DVD of those first 3 shows. See them if you can!

QuoteCindyC I toured that part of Scotland with my dad and brother. I didn't go to any distilleries, but I can recap what I saw in four words: Rocks, Water, Castles, Sheep. That being said, I did enjoy it and it was beautiful. Have fun. Cindy, need I remind you? Men In Skirts!

QuoteT&Aoooo - another Islay fan! All the distilleries there are great - we're hoping to pick up the first Kilchoman (3 year old) product that hits the market this fall when we return in November. Yeah, have spent a euro or two at that bowmore store. Bruichladdich is a great distillery...one of the last of the independents. They were making a malt with over 150 ppm phenols last i h

Horrible, stunning stuff. I've been away from news and the 'net for a week or so, this comes as a shock. I hope this is over soon. Glad Rock and the other Aussies are making it through this, and my thoughts are with those less fortunate.

If you get to Islay, be sure to check out the Bruichladdich distillery. Jim McEwen is a wizard. Also, the liquor store in Bowmore (just around the corner from the distillery), esp for any Queen of the Moorlands offerings there. They are small bottlings, only available there and at the QoM store in Leek. Yum...

Tina put on a hell of a show here not too long ago. It's a bit over-produced at times, but when you talk about ticket prices, you can see where a lot of the money goes. The stage is elaborate - the only set-up I've seen that rivals the Stones in size and complexity - and it's not a small crew. She works her butt off, gives an incredible performance and can still deliver. And I agre
