Great looking guitar! Get a Fender Twin reverb. More than you need but it is what you want. I speak from experience. Good luck! Doug

I saw that tour in Baltimore and was not impressed except for the last number, Changing of the Guard--which he should start playing again someday. But then I was sitting in the very last row and with Dylan particularly the closer you are, the better the show. You can catch the nuance of his expression and understand what he is doing. Friends of mine saw the show in Buffalo and loved it. The B

I bought my first Martin brand new over thirty years ago. Just out of college, I took a three-month bank loan to cover the $625 it cost. Since then the guitar has given me thousands of hours of pleasure and today it is worth more than double what I paid for it. It has a lifetime warranty which I have used twice: once to replace a lifting bridge and once to replace a curling pickguard. I plan

The Martin signature series are generally limited editions. The George Jones, if I recall correctly, was a dressed up D-41 because Jones likes D-41 models. So get yourself a standard seriesD-41. Sounds great and just enough bling without totally blowing the budget. Good for Bob and Neil stuff.

I was sitting at side of the stage during the DC show of the last tour and could see behind the curtain. During Keith's set, Mick walked back, held up his arms. One woman pulled his shirt off and another woman pulled a fresh shirt on. Then he just stood around sipping water.

On the last tour, they did "Love is Strong" in Baltimore. Jagger's harp playing was one of the highlights of the show. Made you wonder why they don't drop a warhorse and play that song more often. Back in '79, I went to see Sugar Blue play at a small club in Paris. During a break, I went to the loo. Sugar was in there getting chewed out by his girlfriened. "S

A woman came and stood right in front of me at the Stones show in Phila back in 2001. She was yakking away to this younger guy. I was about to tell her to shut up and watch the concert when I realized it was Jo Wood and probably one of her sons. She'd come out from backstage to watch Ron's big solo on--what was it?--Monkey Man? She was jumping around the whole time trying to get him

I had the 3 or 4 foot tall standup cardboard promo of naked Mick with both hands stuck down behind the Sticky Fingers album covering his crotch. Wonder what it is worth now?

Actually, about ten years ago, Charlie wrote me a thank you letter for a copy of a book on the American Civil War which I'd written. Sent it to his home address. When it came, I had forgotten about it and wondered what it was. All in his hand with his distinctive signature. He even addressed the envelope. Unless you're willing to risk losing the ticket, however, I don't think

I own a Mexi Tele and an American Strat. Both are good guitars. The American Strat is, of course, a bit nicer but it costs a bit more. I have also owned two Mexi Strats. Liked them both. Sold one to a friend of mine and if he ever sells it I'm gonna buy it back cause there was just something special about it. Upgrades? Never did any cause I was happy with them as they were. If you

There's a guy who has been advertising for weeks in the local newspaper wanting a 1964 Rolling Stones poster for their concert in Harrisburg, PA. He's willing to pay $10,000! Wish I had one.

At the October 05 Washington DC show, we were sitting on Ronnie's side and could see backstage. During Keith's set, we could see Mick having his clothes changed. I say "having his clothes changed" because it was Mick holding up his arms, woman pulls off shirt, woman pulls on new shirt, Mick puts his arms down. I'm not sure he sat down at all--which is what I would have

There's also an official/unofficial "build it yourself" live album. Columbia issued several record stores promo freebies in the late 90s with three or four recent live cuts on each--Love Sick, Things Have Changed, Blind Willie, etc. Put them all together and you have a quite nice full-length live album.

I've owned two Mexi-Strats and still own one Mexi-Tele and one American Standard Strat. All were nice guitars. Sold the one Mexi-Strat to a friend with the provision that I get first dibs if he ever sells it. The American Strat is now my main electric. It is a bit more refined than its south-of-the-border brothers but the Mexis are fine guitars and great value for the money. I certainly
